1. 92 Ways to Get Press Coverage

You'll be blown away when you see this blog post on "92 Ways to Get (and Maximize) Press Coverage."

It's one of the most complete lists I've seen about how to navigate the online and offline worlds of publicity--perfect for starting the new year right.

Chances are you've already read many of the tips here. But author Chris Winfield of BlueGlass Interactive, Inc. has done such a fabulous job of consolidating all 92 tips into an easy-to-understand, step-by-step format, that I don't want you to miss it. I've bookmarked it and will be spending more time digesting it this weekend.

If you're a Pubicity Puppy who's just learning about how to self-promote, this one blog post will shorten your learning curve by miles.

If you're a veteran Publicity Hound and you THINK you know it all, you'll learn at least a dozen new tricks for DIY promotion.

Two paws up--way up--for this one. Don't miss it.

2. Content is King in 2013

One of the most important things you can do to promote yourself this year is to create content--lots of it, in a variety of formats, and consistently.

Helpful content helps attract your target audience. It catches Google's attention. And it impresses journalists who are looking for expert sources.

When PR expert Susan Young asked me to contribute my best idea for a blog post she was writing called "10 PR stars reveal secrets for social media success in 2013," here's how I responded:

"Recycle your content, create it in multiple formats, and share it on the social media sites. Example: Take a how-to blog post and turn it into an MP3, and then a video (record yourself offering 3 tips from the article), and then a slideshow for LinkedIn, and then a series of photos for a Pinterest board. Note to self: Do this in 2013 and stop creating content from scratch!"

Read what the other nine PR stars recommended.

This year, you'll see a lot of emphasis in this newsletter and at my blog on how to create quality content without turning everything you produce into a major project. I've made a personal commitment to blogging more often at http://www.PublicityHound.net, beefing up my YouTube channel, and repurposing content in a variety of formats.

If you'd like to see tips or an entire webinar on a specific aspect of creating content, drop me a line.

Interested in creating your own live webinars and then selling the video replays as an additional revenue stream? Don't miss the video replay of the two-part webinar series I hosted recently on "How to Host Webinars and Sell Them as Profitable Products." You can order the video replay and the bonuses, including the 20-point checklist I use the day of the call.

 3. 6 Keys to Success for Authors

When Jack Canfield and Mark Victor Hansen received 144 rejection letters from publishers who weren't interested in Chicken Soup for the Soul, they never gave up, even though their own literary agent wasn't bowled over by the book.

They tried a variety of tactics and eventually sold 20,000 copies before finally landing a publisher that was willing to take the risk. That was more than 500 million books and 47 New York Times best-sellers ago. Today, Canfield and Hansen are among the most successful non-fiction authors on the planet.

Canfield says he did six other things to become a best-selling author. You can do them, too. Register for the free teleseminar at 2 or 7 p.m. Eastern Time on Thursday, Jan. 3, and listen to Canfield explain them all.

You'll also hear him describe exactly what kept the co-authors moving full speed ahead as the rejection letters continued to accumulate. Authors, if you've ever been rejected--by publishers, readers, agents or others--you must hear this.

Register for the free call right now.

I'm a compensated affiliate for host Steve Harrison and I'm promoting the call because I'm inundated with pleas from frustrated authors who write books with no guidance from the experts, and then are stuck with crummy books they can't sell.
