Report: One fifth of China's soil contaminated

             Almost a fifth of China's soil is contaminated, an official study released by the government has shown.,

             Conducted between 2005-2013, it found that 16.1% of China's soil and 19.4% of its arable land showed contamination.

             The report, by the Environmental Protection Ministry, named cadmium, nickel and arsenic as top pollutants.

             There is growing concern, both from the government and the public, that China's rapid industrialization is causing irreparable damage to its environment.

Mercury Finds a Way?Even into the Pristine National Parks

             Although generally low in concentration, a study of mercury levels in fish in 21 Western national parks did find some locations where mercury concentrations exceeded health thresholds for potential impacts to fish, birds, and humans, according to U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and National Park Service (NPS) researchers in a recent publication. This study, the first of its kind, detected mercury in all of the fish sampled, even from the more pristine areas of the parks.

                  The National Health Federation (NHF) returned again to Asia in mid-March 2014, to attend the Codex Committee on Food Additives (CCFA) Forty-Sixth Session in Hong Kong, China. ^[1] Last year?s CCFA meeting, held amidst the death-smog of Beijing, yielded a great victory as NHF reduced neurotoxic aluminum by 50% in many food products and completely eliminated it in others.

Despite Winter?s frosty embrace, the Sun and the Norwegians conspired to overwhelm the cold and provide a warm reception for the nearly 180 Codex delegates gathered here in Bergen, Norway in mid-February 2014 for the Thirty-third meeting of the Codex Committee on Fish and Fishery Products (CCFFP).

            There is a great deal of attention these days, appropriately, to autistic spectrum disorder (ASD).  It is a serious condition and deserves serious attention. But discussions continue whether an apparent increase in the disorder is due to expanding criteria and better identification, or whether there is in fact an actual increase in incidence and prevalence. This is an important question because if we are to make accurate diagnoses, develop effective treatment, and hopefully someday create preventative strategies, we need be careful to properly identify the condition. Because, as elsewhere in medicine, the beginning of wisdom is to call things by their right name from both clinical and research standpoints.

             I predict that Gardasil will become the greatest medical scandal of all times because at some point in time, the evidence will add up to prove that this vaccine, technical and scientific feat that it may be, has absolutely no effect on cervical cancer and that all the very many adverse effects which destroy lives and even kill, serve no other purpose than to generate profit for the manufacturers.

There is far too much financial interest for these medicines to be withdrawn.

CURRENT PROJECTS:

                  When NHF Board member Dr. Harvey Bigelsen?s medical office was raided recently by the FDA and his Darkfield microscope seized, NHF came to his defense. In an era of increasing crackdowns of healthcare professionals, which border on harassment for many participating in alternative therapies, NHF vows to fight to protect practitioners as well as

defend our rights to seek out and employ alternative therapies of our own choosing.

              The National Health Federation has just joined efforts with the Texas Health Freedom Coalition (Peter M. McCarthy, CTN, Chairman) to pass (1) a constitutional amendment to the Texas State Constitution guaranteeing all Texans access to the health care of their choice, and (2) an amendment to the existing medical practice code, limiting its applicability only to medical doctors. 

In doing so, NHF joins a team of lawyers, some from the National Health Freedom Coalition, and other health care practitioners and interested parties, all of whom are working in support of this ambitious legislative effort.
