New plant-incorporated protectant crops (PIP) have been applied widely throughout the U.S., resulting in higher crop yields, lower need for other insecticides and control of mycotoxin content. Though the U.S. has approved these crops, Europe and many other countries have not. The Environmental Protection Agency?s Office of Pesticide Programs has been analyzing the management of PIP crops and has instituted new regulations regarding Bt crops.
