InterviewCLICK Tests New Video Format Featuring On-Screen Scripts to Boost Engagement
GREENSBORO, N.C. — (News Council) — InterviewCLICK.com is testing a new video format designed to increase engagement and clarity by pairing short-form videos with full scripts displayed at the bottom of the screen.
The initiative builds on the company's mission to connect journalists and experts by making information easier to consume, share, and act upon.
The new format features 60-second videos targeted to both journalists and subject-matter experts. Each video delivers a concise message, while a written script appears below—allowing viewers to read along, skim key points, or reuse the content for their own outreach.
"This is about accessibility and usability," said Mitchell P. Davis, founder of InterviewCLICK and ExpertCLICK. "Some people prefer to watch, others prefer to read. By combining both, we give users the best of both worlds."
As part of the test, InterviewCLICK is rolling out a series of core messaging scripts designed to highlight how journalists and experts can benefit from the platform. These include themes such as "Don't Chase the Media," "The Right Source Makes the Story," "Somebody Is Looking for What You Know," and "Deadlines Don't Wait."
Additional scripts emphasize "Visibility Beats Waiting," "Get Found Before the Story Breaks," and "The Media Calls Who It Can Find," reinforcing the importance of discoverability in today's fast-moving media environment.
The series continues with "One Quote Can Open Doors," "The Matchmaker for Media," and "Your Expertise Shouldn't Stay Hidden," all underscoring the platform's core value: helping journalists find credible sources quickly while giving experts more visibility and media opportunities.
The scripts also serve a secondary purpose. Experts can adapt them for their own marketing, social media, and thought leadership efforts—turning each video into a reusable communications tool.
According to Davis, the idea came from observing how audiences interact with content online.
"People don't always watch a full video, but they will scan text," he said. "By putting the script right there, we increase comprehension, retention, and sharing."
The company is evaluating performance metrics including watch time, click-through rates, and user engagement to determine whether the format will be expanded across its broader platform.
"Ultimately, it's about making connections easier," Davis said. "Better formats lead to better communication—and better stories."
