As a coach, I’ve met a lot of people whose issues with performance, innovation, organization, priority setting, and so forth are actually caused by physical problems they are unaware of or ignore. Sometimes it may be depression (clinical or non-clinical) but it’s often a lack of exercise, poor sleep habits, ignoring physical pain as a “necessary evil,” and simple ignorance of the fact they have a medical condition that is not normal.
My advice is to get a checkup, make sure there’s nothing wrong physically which may be undermining their emotional and intellectual performance. Think about it.
