Lea Michele donated a pair of (size seven) Kimchi Blue red flats from her personal closet to Shoe Revolt, an Oregon nonprofit that fights commercial sex trafficking through shoes. The pair is going to be available in an auction for you to bid on!

Lea Michele Sarfati was born in the Bronx, New York and raised in Tenafly, New Jersey. Lea got her start on Broadway in the production of Les Miserables. At eight years old, she went with a friend to an audition, decided to try out, and was offered the role. Lea appeared in several Broadway shows until she was in her early twenties. She was nominated for a Drama Desk Award for her performance in Spring Awakening, for Outstanding Actress in a Musical. Michele starred in the show for two years before exploring more career opportunities. In 2009, Lea landed the role of ?Rachel Berry? on the FOX hit Glee. For her performance on the show, Lea received the 2009 Satellite Award for Best Actress in a Series, Comedy or Musical. She also wan a Screen Actors Guild Award for Glee. Lea has also received Golden Globe, Emmy, and Teen Choice Award nominations.

Shoe Revolt takes donations of shoes and sells them on their online boutique to raise funds for programs that support survivors of commercial sex trafficking. The executive director of one of those programs, Vashti?s Voice, explains what having Shoe Revolt?s support means, ?I am excited and grateful that Shoe Revolt is raising funds for our program. I think people need to be aware that this crime is happening in every neighborhood, not just those in less affluent areas. People tend to feel disconnected and unmoved because they do not acknowledge the presence of this crime in their own domains.? The involvement of celebrities in Shoe Revolt?s program has greatly improved the organization?s ability to contribute to fighting sex trafficking in the United States. It also brings much more awareness to the issue in one of the most troubled states, California, as most celebrities reside here.

Lea?s shoes go on auction Monday, December 5. If you want to bid on these great flats before someone else snatches them up, visit www.shoerevolt.com/shoes/lea-michele. To learn how to donate shoes from your own closet, visit www.shoerevolt.com.
