Dear Family & Friends,

I watched the Election results on my computer here in Israel all Tuesday night, 7 hours ahead. It was the first time I ever stayed up all night. It was mesmerizing & uplifting. I cried from joy at the greatness inherent in the American people. Viewing the miracle of democracy in my “Old Country” was inspiring!

The anchors & commentators didn’t know why they had praised Clinton & demonized Trump. Most of the experienced, professional media people were the most clueless. FOX NEWS had a clue. In a panel discussion, they admitted they were flummoxed by the Trump win & acknowledged that they’d have to study the computer programming that totally got the coming result wrong.

Karl Rove said, “This was a populist election.” Well, of course it was. The elites & establishment influentials didn’t have a clue as to what happened. By elites I mean the college-educated, higher income people who answered. The poll responders gave skewed answers (or no answers) to the polling questions.

But, the vox populare or ‘regular’ people came out in droves to vote their voices because they were fed up with low-paying or no jobs – because America’s ‘globalization’ sent their jobs overseas, poor education for their kids with crime & violence increasing in the cities, high cost of Obama-care, etc.

Somehow they read Donald Trump’s brusque, no nonsense straight talk as the really true answers to their on-going, increasingly worse problems. Yes, Mr. Trump is a successful businessman, usually making millions because that’s how he got to be a billionaire. Is that not an asset to his coming job as President, in which he states he plans to work very hard to “Make America Great Again”? And, “I Love This Country!” in his victory acceptance speech.

Why are people worried about how he’ll manage ‘complicated’ foreign & financial policy? Trump’s level of superior negotiating business skills & brinkmanship will either scare the Putins & Daesh & Iranian terrorists in the world or, more likely, raise the level of their respect for (& fear of) the new President of the United States from the so-called “tough guys” in the world.

The most unhappy person in America as Donald Trump won a remarkable historic presidential election victory was the man on the second floor of the White House. His legacy is about to lie in shatters.

Obama’s presidency will go down as a domestic and foreign policy disaster.

As president you either change Congress or you change their minds to get your policies pushed through. Obama did neither. With imperial distain he ruled by executive orders. He did it with the connivance of the Washington Establishment. His style was resented by the electorate. As were his policies.

Hillary Clinton was irrevocably tied to his failures. Indeed, she was the architect of much of the events that worsened the world. But apparently it wasn’t this that lost Clinton the hearts of the American people. It was her behavior pattern that topped any resentment Americans felt for Trump in the battle between the two worst candidates ever presented to the voting public.

Although, at the last minute, she escaped FBI charges over the use of a private server, the accumulation of her exposed lies and suspicions of corruption over her Clinton Foundation while serving as Secretary of State raised sufficient red flags to make people take a fresh look at Trump. The shadow of the “pay for play” and the dubious grifting for favors will loom over the Clintons as the need for understanding and judgment will be clarified by the FBI.

Clinton spent the last month of her campaign dumping down on Trump rather than spelling out new policies that would improve the lives of tens of millions of suffering Americans. While she was trashing the Republican candidate he was explaining how he was going to bring jobs back to America, how he will replace a hugely unpopular Obama-care, how he would reduce taxes, how he would bring education control back to the states, how he would build a wall and keep America safe, how he will strengthen the military abroad and law enforcement at home, and how he would renegotiate the trade deals that was ruining America not only in jobs but also economically.

In short, to rephrase a Clinton stump slogan, while she went low, he went high.

The media was complicit in becoming the propaganda arm of the Clinton campaign. With too many exposures including CNN’s Donna Brazille passing questions to Clinton top aides in advance of televised debates, the recruiting of “Get Trump” investigative reporters, the whitewash of a tsunami of shocking emails and document distributed by Wiki-leaks that exposed the Clinton campaign payment for provoking violence at Trump rallies as well other unverified accusations against Trump.

In conversations with some pro-Clinton friends and family it was apparent that many Clinton supporters were so incensed against Trump that they refused to relate to questions about any character faults in their Democratic favorite. They were sticking their heads in the sand refusing to see her flaws or to understand that neither of them felt the hurt caused by poor policies and a negligence that made the world and America a far worse place. It was this myopia that prevented them from seeing that the guy they detested was reaching into the wounded souls of too many Americans who find themselves far worse off after the election of Obama and absolutely didn’t trust Hillary Clinton to improve their lives. The late-breaking news of massive increases in their Obama-Clinton healthcare costs confirmed that Clinton would do nothing to lift this financial yoke off their shoulders, a burden they can ill-afford to carry.

I found it incredible how my American progressive friends and relations were oblivious to this. If I could see it from Israel why couldn’t they see it from there?

We have witnessed an America too progressively concentrating on changing society for the worst. Safe spaces got preference over a safe America. Toilets for people who don’t know if they are male or female make the headlines rather than forty million Americans on food stamps. When petty criminals get shot the police are accused of criminality, but murderous illegal immigrants are protected in sanctuary cities.

Trump got it right. The people want to get America back on track, a track based on traditional values, common sense, hard work, security and patriotism. It’s a society based on the same values we love and need in Israel for our welfare and safety.

In this Trump shares much in common with Israel, other patriotic European nations struggling to shrug off the ravages of Big Brother Socialist governments and Britain who exited Europe to regain its independence and national pride.

In an Arutz Sheva interview, Education Minister Naftali Bennett (Jewish Home) expressed his hope that Trump’s election as US president constituted the death knell for a Palestinian state.

Bennett said this was a victory for truth over old, fading conventions. A victory for the country’s interests over those of the elite, whose policies are collapsing before our own eyes.”

Bennett, adding that he saw this as an “incredible opportunity” for Israel to renounce it’s support for a Palestinian state in the heart of Israel, a state which would present both a huge security risk and would harm Israel’s moral right to settle in Judea and Samaria. Bennett concluded by announcing that “the epoch of a Palestinian state has ended.”

Donald Trump has won the Midwestern states of Wisconsin and Iowa, Fox News reported, netting the Republican 16 electoral votes & making Hillary Clinton’s path to the White House extremely narrow –& increasingly unlikely.

Breaking a 32-year losing streak in Wisconsin, which last went for a Republican in 1984, Trump now will likely win at least 269 electoral votes, should he carry Alaska and Arizona, which both went for Romney in 2012.

Should Trump lose every other state besides those two, he would still block Clinton’s hopes to net 270 electors, holding her at a tie of 269-269, throwing the election to the Republican House of Representatives.

Donald Trump scored a run of significant projected victories Tuesday night in the battlegrounds of Wisconsin, Iowa, Florida, North Carolina and Ohio, swiftly complicating Hillary Clinton’s path as she trailed the Republican nominee in the electoral-vote count.

Fox News projects that Clinton will win the swing states of Virginia and Colorado. She also is projected to win California, a solidly blue state that is worth 55 electoral votes.

But Trump continues to hold the electoral-vote lead as he nears the necessary 270 to win.

His victory in Florida comes in the biggest and most significant battleground state that was up for grabs Tuesday night. And in winning Wisconsin, he becomes the first Republican presidential candidate to win the state since 1984; it was a major setback for Clinton, who was widely expected to win there.

It was too early or close to call other vital battlegrounds, including: Pennsylvania, Nevada, Arizona and New Hampshire.

“We’re feeling buoyant,” Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway told Fox News.

While the outcome of the big swing state races is unclear, Fox News can project that Trump will win in Georgia, Utah, Idaho, Montana, Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, Kansas, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming. In Nebraska, one of just two states that does not use a winner-take-all system of awarding delegates, Fox News can project that Trump will win four electoral votes. It is too early to say who will win the final vote in that state. Trump earlier claimed projected victories in South Carolina, West Virginia, Kentucky, Indiana, Alabama, Missouri, Mississippi, Oklahoma and Tennessee.

Clinton, meanwhile, is projected to win delegate-rich New York. Clinton was projected to easily win her home state of Illinois, and is also projected to win Oregon, Hawaii, Washington state, New Mexico, Connecticut, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Maryland, Rhode Island, Vermont, Delaware and the District of Columbia.

The incoming returns follow a frenzied day of voting across America marked by long lines and last-minute appeals for support from both campaigns.

While the race has tightened in recent days, the Democratic nominee still seemed to enter Election Day with the edge on the electoral map in her quest to become the first woman elected U.S. president. But Trump voiced confidence Tuesday about his chances in key battlegrounds.

“We’re going to win a lot of states,” the Republican nominee told Fox News, as he aims for an upset victory to cap his improbable campaign which came from behind to vanquish 16 competitors in the rowdy Republican primaries.

The general election race between Clinton and Trump has been no less grueling.

The presidential debates were marked by outbursts, interruptions and name-calling, as the candidates dealt before, during and after with a slew of campaign twists that kept the race in flux all the way to Election Day.

The most recent bombshell was FBI Director James Comey’s announcement 11 days before the election that the bureau was revisiting the investigation into Clinton’s personal email server use while secretary of state, after discovering new messages on the laptop of disgraced ex-Rep. Anthony Weiner, the estranged husband of a top Clinton aide. He closed the case again on Sunday, but Trump already was using the brief probe to revive the email controversy in the final days. The WikiLeaks release of emails hacked from Campaign Chairman John Podesta’s account also has become a constant distraction for the Democrat’s campaign, as the messages revealed infighting, internal ethical concerns about the Clinton family’s foundation and even evidence that the now-head of the Democratic National Committee leaked town hall questions to Clinton during the primaries.

Meanwhile, Trump dealt with – and denied – numerous allegations of sexual harassment and assault that came out in October, following leaked footage from over a decade ago showing Trump making crude comments about women.

The candidates swept all that aside in the closing hours of the race, as Clinton cast herself as a unifying force after a divisive election and Trump cast his bid as the vehicle to bring jobs and security back to America.

“Today is our independence day, today the American working class is going to strike,” Trump said in Grand Rapids, Mich., overnight.

Clinton, in North Carolina, said, “We have to bridge the divides in this country.”

No matter who wins, the 45th president will take office to an anti-establishment mood in the electorate and deep voter dissatisfaction with the direction of the country. Concerns about health care, the economy, terrorism and illegal immigration dominated the race and are unlikely to be settled by Tuesday’s vote.

Voters were also deciding Tuesday whether Republicans should keep control of both the Senate and House of Representatives. Fox News projects the GOP will hold the House, though the race for the Senate has not yet been called.

Meanwhile, hundreds of state and local races including hot-button ballot initiatives are being decided as well.

9:49 p.m.: The New York Times says Trump has a 53% chance of winning the election.

9:41 p.m.: CNN reports that Trump has 136 electoral votes, while Clinton has 104.

9:33 p.m.: Trump has a small lead over Clinton in key states of Florida, North Carolina, Virginia & Ohio.

9:15 p.m.: CNN now projects that Trump has 128 electoral votes after winning Texas & Arkansas. Clinton has won 97. Florida is still very close, but Trump has a slim lead there.

9:03 p.m.: According to the latest CNN tally, Clinton has 97 electoral votes compared to Trump’s 84.

8:37 p.m.: CNN projects that Trump will win South Carolina & Alabama, giving him 66 electoral votes compared with Clinton’s 68.

8:19 p.m.: CNN reports that Clinton so far has 68 electoral votes, compared with 48 for Trump.

8:14 p.m.: Initial results show that Clinton is leading in the key states of Ohio & North Carolina. Both these states have 33 electoral votes.

8:00 p.m.: American television networks are projecting that Trump will win South Carolina, which has 9 electoral votes.

7:58 p.m.: A senior Trump adviser admitted on Tues. night that it will take a “miracle” for Trump to win the presidential election. “It will take a miracle for us to win,” the adviser, not named, told CNN.

7:30 p.m.: CNN projects that Trump won West Virginia which has 5 electoral votes.

7:25 p.m.: Initial results indicate that Trump is leading in the swing state of Florida, which has 29 electoral votes. Not all the polls in that state have closed, however.

According to the complaints, voters would cast a vote in the machine for Trump – only to see the machine switch their vote to Clinton.

Complaints were reported in Luzerne County in Pennsylvania, as well as in Butler, Pennsylvania.

The reports come as a Nevada court denied today the request of the Trump campaign to preserve early voting records in that state, after the campaign claimed that a polling station for early voting had been kept open last week past the official closing time of the station.

On Monday, the Trump campaign had sued the voters registrar of Clark County in Nevada, claiming that a polling station had been kept open late to accommodate a greater number of Democratic voters.

“The incidents that occurred on Friday night should be troubling to anyone who is interested in free and fair elections,” said Charles Munoz, head of the Trump campaign in Nevada, according to Fox News. “Voters who showed up after the scheduled closing times at selected locations [favoring Clinton] were allowed to vote, while those who were not able to make it to other early voting sites [in areas favoring Trump] by the posted closing times were denied the right to cast their ballots,” he said.

“The media is almost completely leftist and trying to point towards a Clinton victory. They create the atmosphere, and I hope that all the polls are wrong and that all of the predictions will turn out to be worthless.”

He believes that Trump would be better for Israel than Clinton. “Everyone knows that he is anti-Islam and that the platform of the Republican party is against (the establishment of) a Palestinian state. It is (also) no secret that the Clinton Foundation was supported by Kuwait, so we know what Clinton thinks.”

Haetzni said that although he hopes that Trump will win the election, it would not be the end of the world if Clinton wins instead. “I am not enthusiastic about Clinton, but even if she wins, Israel is so strong that we do not need to worry about what the ‘master’ says. Even Obama, who identified with the Arab world, provided us with military aid because (supporting) Israel is in America’s interest and we are an island of sanity in the Middle East.”

“That will not change no matter who is president. We are their insurance policy. Everything is burning all around the Middle East. It is a true hell, and no American president can ignore that fact. If even Obama can realize that then surely Hillary Clinton can as well.”

You cannot love America, Jews & Israel & have the close advisers & friends the Clintons have gathered around them.

Many of us have grown up under the admonition of our parents, you are judged by the friends you keep. Regarding Israel, never has this adage rung more succinctly than regarding President Obama’s relationships with his former pastor, Rev. Wright; Valerie Jarrett; Van Jones; and a host of others within his administration disinclined toward the Jewish state. Unfortunately, multitudes of Jews who voted for the current president, not once but twice and now rue the day on which they did so, may be about to make the same mistake.
Huma Abedin: Having locked up her nomination to head the Democratic ticket in early June, a cry rang out in the Brooklyn Navy Yard’s Duggal Greenhouse where thousands cheered her name. “Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome our next president of the United States, Hillary Clinton!” The claim was made by none other than, Huma Abedin, Hillary Clinton’s closest assistant, adviser, and professional confidante for over two decades.
In a comprehensive article published in Vogue entitled, Huma Abedin On Her Job, Family, and the Campaign of a Lifetime, Nathan Heller describes a devout Muslim woman, dedicated to her work, a hard hitting woman totally enmeshed in the service of her longterm boss, Hillary Clinton. According to him, ‘Clinton and Abedin seem to travel the world as a single entity.’ Senator Chuck Schumer is quoted saying, Hillary is a good listener but she “really listened to what Huma would say. If she didn’t say anything, Hillary would ask her what she thought.” Hillary herself described Abedin as, “among the most capable and confident people in public service….”With Huma, her grace, her intellect, and her humility have been unmatched as I’ve watched her go from an aide to an adviser to one of the people at the top of my campaign.”
During Bill Clinton’s administration, Abedin applied for a coveted White House internship; fortunately for her that never materialized but she was instead stationed in the office of the First Lady. Her rise to power and dedication to Clinton is no less miraculous. From intern to deputy Secretary of State and today widely assumed chief of staff or Secretary of State should Clinton win the presidency.
Surprisingly, or perhaps not so, are certain glaring omissions and aspects of Abedin’s lifethis author gleaned, such as:
• For 12 years Abedin was the assistant editor of the Journal of Muslim Minority Affairs, a pro Muslim Brotherhood publication founded by her father, Syed.
• Her mother, Saleha has an especially strong Islamist resume. She leads a group called the International Islamic Committee for Women and Child, a subsidiary of a Muslim Brotherhood-led group that is banned in Israel for its links to Hamas.
It doesn’t stop there. The Clarion Project published a comprehensive, annotated article entitled, ‘Extremism Found in Journal During Huma Abedin’s Tenure.’ It should be an eye opener to friends of Israel as to the real loyalties Clinton’s closest adviser.
Sidney and Max Blumenthal: If Huma is Hillary’s right hand person, then Sidney; the father of virulent anti-Semite Max is right up there with her. He was a senior adviser during Bill Clinton’s presidency and served again as senior adviser for Hillary’s failed 2008 run for the White House. For those who doubt her trust in his opinions, his paid salary of $10,000 a month from her should dispel any diffidence.
In an email sent to Clinton’s private account on March 21, 2010, Blumenthal urges Clinton to praise JStreet in order to discredit Netanyahu, U.S. neoconservatives, and AIPAC, which Blumenthal refers to as an “organ of the Israeli right.” He goes on to say:
“I would argue something you should do is that, while praising AIPAC, remind it in as subtle but also as directly as you can that it does not have a monopoly over American Jewish opinion.”
Does today’s Presidential candidate repudiate his advice? Clinton responds and writes in an email sent earlier that day, asking Blumenthal if she should also mention “private” analysis by Israeli scholar and rabid leftist Uri Avnery, who is a fierce critic of Israel’s current policies and right-wing government. Failing a prompt response she demands a memo from him on how to best paint JStreet while demeaning the Netanyahu government before AIPAC. This is not a matter of conjecture. Follow this recently unclassified U.S. Department of State link, it’s an eye popping, indisputable window into Hillary’s true feelings on Israel.
But the ‘coup de grace’ as to the inner workings and thoughts of the elder Blumenthal and his influence on the former Secretary of State is his relationship and non-repudiation of his baneful, Jew hating son Max.
Max Blumenthal: In October 2013 Sidney hosted a book party promoting an anti-Semitic book entitled, “Goliath” written by Max who claims equivalence between Israel and Nazi Germany. In 2013 the Simon Wiesenthal Center released the top 10 list of anti-Semitic/ Israel slurs in which Max Blumenthal prominently; if that’s the correct term, scored ninth place. The book is replete with chapters entitled
• “Summer Camp of Destruction”
• “Date With the Devil”
• “The Concentration Camp”
• “There is No Dream”
• “How to Kill Goyim and Influence People”
Even Dr. Eric Alterman, an extreme critic of Israel in his own right, wrote a critique of ‘Goliath’ in the far left wing magazine, The Nation where he states: Blumenthal’s “book could have been a selection of a hypothetical Hamas Book of the Month Club.”

By secretly dispersing his money to influence politicians and the media, Soros hopes to drive a wedge between America and Israel without anyone noticing. According to the leaked emails, Soros, as far back as 2011 made his policy wishes known to Clinton via Michael Vachon, an adviser and spokesman for Soros, who frequently emailed John Podesta to schedule phone calls and meetings and relay his boss’ policy positions. Some of which are succinctly revealed in a speech he gave in front of the Jewish Funders Network where he said “European anti-Semitism is the result of the policies of Israel and the United States.” He has said that “America is the gravest threat to world freedom” and generally stands against many Western interests.
To those that view the Democrat party as a religion and not just a party the aforementioned is water off the back of a duck. But for Christians and Jews that support Israel and Jewish concerns the facts outlined in this essay are irrefutable.

11.UNRWA textbooks teach hatred by David Bedein

The Center for Near East Policy Research held a press briefing today that the World Zionist Organization which was meant to provide a glimpse into schools set up by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).

They indicated that new textbooks for UNRWA schools incite hatred of Jews and Israel.

Dr. Arnon Gross, who was drafted by the Center for Near East Policy to translate the textbooks, said, “There is a lot of incitement. UNRWA is presumably trying to set up an educational system, but they’re not. In classes there are teachers belonging to groups like Hamas and Fatah who call for the ‘liberation of Palestine’ and to murder Jews.”

David Bedein, the head of the Center for Near East Policy Research, said: “When education is focused on blaming Israel, that needs to shock people. There is no oversight of educational content.”

He also noted, “For the first time we’ve had the textbooks translated. Only a year ago, the US representatives said they’re fine[…but they’re] not fine.”

“All Israeli cities [in the textbooks] are replaced by Palestinian cities. Everything is about the ‘Right of Return’ [for Palestinians] and armed struggle.”

“Our job is to blow away the myth that there’s been a change in education,” Bedein said.

Oslo is Devastating to Jewish Lives

Oslo has been quite expensive, not just in terms of time, money & human capital entertaining world leaders, but in the cost of loss of life of our loved ones. Since Oslo, from signing in 1993 till today & still counting, the death toll is 1876 lives lost over a 23 year period. 379 lives were butchered in 1993 alone. This is, as opposed to terror attacks before the Oslo Accord, from statehood in 1948 till the signing of Oslo has cost us 1559 lives over a 44 year period. That is an average of 81.56 deaths a year since the signing of Oslo, as opposed to 35.43 deaths a year before Oslo. So, what benefit has Oslo bought us & why are we still living with it?

It is not working, it is a killing machine. How many more will have to die before we correct our mistakes. We will never see “Peace”, until Abbas and the PLO are deported. If world leaders truly believe a Palestinian state is the solution, then let them establish such a Palestinian state in their own nation. They have opened their gates to the Syrian refugees, they can also open their gates to the Palestinian refugees. Convention between the United States and Great Britain in respect to rights in Palestine was signed at London, December 3, 1924: Ratification advised by the Senate, February 20, 1925; ratified by the President, March 2, 1925 (That means that Eretz-Israel was recognized as all Palestine– including trans-Jordan, Gaza, Judea, Samaria and Golan Heights – are recognized by the US!); ratified by Great Britain, March 18, 1925; ratifications exchanged at London, December 3, 1925; proclaimed, December 5, 1925

It includes the exact language of Balfour quoted by the League of Nations, and more- including the right of Jews to settle in all parts of Palestine:

WHEREAS by the Treaty of Peace concluded with the Allied Powers, Turkey renounces all her rights and titles over Palestine; and

Whereas article 22 of the Covenant of the League of Nations in the Treaty of Versailles provides that in the case of certain territories which, as a consequence of the late war, ceased to be under the sovereignty of the States which formerly governed them, mandates should be issued, and that the terms of the mandate should be explicitly defined in each case by the Council of the League; and

Whereas the Principal Allied Powers have agreed to entrust the Mandate for Palestine to His Britannic Majesty; and

Whereas the terms of the said mandate have been defined by the Council of the League of Nations, as follows:

“Whereas the Principal Allied Powers have agreed, for the purpose of giving effect to the provisions of Article 22 of the Covenant of the League of Nations, to entrust to a Mandatory selected by the said Powers the administration of the territory of Palestine, which formerly belonged to the Turkish Empire, within such boundaries as may be fixed by them; and

“Whereas the Principal Allied Powers have also agreed that the Mandatory should be responsible for putting into effect the declaration originally made on November 2nd, 1917, by the Government of His Britannic Majesty, and adopted by the said Powers, in favor of the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people, it being clearly understood that nothing should be done which might prejudice the civil and religious rights of existing non-Jewish communities in Palestine, or the rights and political status enjoyed by Jews in any other country; and

“Whereas recognition has thereby been given to the historical connection of the Jewish people with Palestine and to the grounds for reconstituting their national home in that country;

Article 2

The Mandatory shall be responsible for placing the country under such political, administrative and economic conditions as will secure the establishment of the Jewish national home, as laid down in the preamble…

Article 4

An appropriate Jewish agency shall be recognized as a public body for the purpose of advising and co-operating with the Administration of Palestine in such economic, social and other matters as may affect the establishment of the Jewish national home and the interests of the Jewish population in Palestine, and, subject always to the control of the Administration, to assist and take part in the development of the country.

The Zionist organization, so long as its organization and constitution are in the opinion of the Mandatory appropriate, shall be recognised as such agency. It shall take steps in consultation with His Britannic Majesty’s Government to secure the co-operation of all Jews who are willing to assist in the establishment of the Jewish national home. (Quite the opposite happened! Britain did all it could to incite Arab violence against Jews and remove Jews from Jewish land.)

Article 6

The Administration of Palestine, while ensuring that the rights and position of other sections of the population are not prejudiced, shall facilitate Jewish immigration under suitable conditions and shall encourage, in cooperation with the Jewish agency referred to in Article 4, close settlement by Jews on the land, including State lands and waste lands not required for public purposes. (British blocked Jewish immigration from Europe before WW2, effectively participated in facilitating the Holocaust! Even after the war Jewish survivors were not allowed to come to Palestine.)

The Palestinian Authority is preparing to lay a claim to the Dead Sea Scrolls at the United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization, Israel Radio reported on Saturday night.

“This is another provocative and audacious attempt by the Palestinians to rewrite history and to erase our connection to our land,” Ambassador to UNESCO Carmel Shama-Hacohen said. “The Dead Sea Scrolls are factual and weighty archeological evidence of the presence of the Jewish people in the Land of Israel.”

The scrolls – a large cache of mostly Hebrew writings from the Second Temple period and its immediate aftermath – were discovered in Qumran between 1947 and 1956. They include many biblical texts and are believed to have been penned by members of a Jewish sect known as the Essenes.

Qumran, which is near the Dead Sea, was under British, and later Jordanian, rule at the time of the discoveries. (Most ancient Torah scroll since Dead Sea Scrolls found & restored )

It is now located in Area C of the West Bank, which is under Israeli civil & military control. The PA considers Area C to be part of its future state.

Qumran is on the list of preservation areas which the PA wants to see registered under the “state of Palestine” on the World Heritage List.

In addition, it plans to bring the matter up before the Intergovernmental Committee for Promoting the Return of Cultural Property to its Countries of Origin or its Restitution in Case of Illicit Appropriation, a committee that operates in an advisory capacity to UNESCO.

According to Shama-Hacohen, the Palestinians brought the matter up informally to the committee when it met in Paris at the end of September.

They asked the group to help the PA obtain the scrolls from Israel, with claims that given the location of the find, they are historical artifacts which belong to the Palestinians. The PA intends to raise the issue formally when the committee convenes again next year, he said. Representatives of the Israel Antiquities Authority who were present at the meeting submitted a report on the matter to the Foreign Ministry at the end of this week.

The Palestinian drive to lay claim to the Dead Sea Scrolls comes amid a series of resolutions passed at UNESCO that ignore Jewish ties to the Temple Mount.

Palestinians Make a Play for Dead Sea Scrolls at UNESCO

Israel could counter Muslim lies about the Jewish history of Jerusalem by pointing out 10 centuries of Islamic sources that confirm Jewish ties to the Temple Mount, or the Ottoman decrees that guaranteed the Jews the right to worship at the Western Wall.

The name Aref al-Aref means very little, if anything, to the Israeli public at large, but last month’s resolution by UNESCO, which adopted the Palestinian tangle of lies about the Jews having no ties to the Temple Mount, Jerusalem, or the Western Wall, could bring the late Palestinian historian — who briefly served as the mayor of east Jerusalem — out of obscurity.

Al-Aref was an Arab journalist, politician, and public official in the time of the British Mandate in Palestine. In the final years of Jordanian rule over east Jerusalem, he also served as director of the Rockefeller Archaeological Museum near Damascus Gate. The museum has been moved and is now located in the Israel Antiquities Authority. The British founded the museum during the Mandate, and when Jordan “inherited” it, the Jordanian commissars used tape to cover up the Hebrew script on some of the artifacts on display.

In spite of this, Al-Aref, an avowed Palestinian nationalist, adhered to historical truth and scientific research and wrote in his books that the Temple Mount (al-Haram al-Sharif in Arabic) is the same Mount Moriah mentioned in Genesis, the site of the Jebusite threshing floor that King David bought to build the Temple on it, and that David’s son, Solomon, built the Temple in the year 1007 BCE.

According to Al-Aref’s writings, remnants of Solomon’s Temple are located beneath Al-Aqsa mosque. The place, he wrote, had belonged to Jews for a certain time, and then it returned to Muslim ownership. He even identified the quarry to the right of Damascus Gate as “Solomon’s Quarry,” although that might be incorrect, and said that David and Solomon took stones from that location to construct the Temple.

Professor Yitzhak Reiter of the Jerusalem Institute for Israel Studies Institute and the Academic College of Ashkelon, an internationally renowned expert on Islam, says that Al-Aref wrote these things when the Old City of Jerusalem was still part of the Kingdom of Jordan, and that they have scarcely been mentioned in Arab history books since 1967 or in contemporary discourse. Reiter, author of From Jerusalem to Mecca and Back: The Islamic Consolidation of Jerusalem, investigated and discovered that “the story of the Jewish Temple, details of its construction, its traditions, its existence and even details about the destruction of the First Temple by Nebuchadnezzar, were in the past a deeply entrenched motif in all types of Arab Muslim literature.”

Archaeologist Professor Dan Bahat, an authority on the history of the Temple Mount and Jerusalem, who is currently working on the Muslim chapter in his book about the history of the Mount, points to a series of early Muslim sources which show that the Muslims themselves, who today deny the existence of the Temple on the Mount and any Jewish ties to Jerusalem, used to treat it very differently.

“In the Quran itself there are sources, such as Surah 2 and Surah 7, which identify the Hutta Gate [called Shaar Haslichot, “Gate of Forgiveness” in Hebrew and the Berkeley Gate in English] as the gate through which ‘the children of Israel’ would one day enter the Temple Mount. The Berkeley Gate is located under the Mughrabi Bridge, which goes over the women’s section of the Western Wall Plaza,” Bahat explains.

Bahat also reveals that Jewish sources, mostly from the Cairo geniza, teach us that elderly Jews were the ones who showed the Muslims the edges of the Foundation Stone, a white stone that was covered by trash and sewage. These were the borders that formed the outlines of the Dome of the Rock building on top of the ancient stone.

Bahat says that Muslim writer Ibn Abu Rabiah, who wrote about Jerusalem in the year 913, only about 200 years after the Dome of the Rock was built, testified that the Dome of the Chain [a freestanding dome on the Temple Mount] which today is identified as a Muslim element, was called that because of a legend dating back to the time of King Solomon, which said that a chain was suspended there between Heaven and the Earth. If two litigants approached it, only the honest one could grab hold of the chain. The liar or unjust man could not.

Another revelation from Bahat: The Muslims who knew about the Jewish ties to the Temple Mount and Jerusalem honored the Jews in the first centuries after Al-Aqsa mosque and the Dome of the Rock were built by assigning them the upkeep: sweeping the floors and rugs of the mosque, filling the lamps with oil and cleaning the ritual baths.

“There is plenty of evidence of this. One is from Mujir al-Din of the 15th century, whom Muslims consider one of the greatest authorities on the early Islamic history of Jerusalem,” Bahat notes.

Bahat and Reiter reach far back into history, but there is no need to. Until almost 1967, in the 50 years that preceded the war that would change the map of Jerusalem and the region, there were plenty of Palestinian and even Jordanian references that identified the Jewish links to Jerusalem and its holy sites, in complete contrast to what representatives of Jordan, the Palestinians, and the Arab states in international bodies are claiming today.

“[Israel] has neglected to use this public diplomacy tool in challenging the attacks that challenge Jewish ties to Jerusalem and the Temple Mount. Maybe it’s time to use it,” an official in the Foreign Ministry said this week.

Indeed, recent archaeological discoveries — the ancient Muslim inscriptionfrom a mosque near Hebron that says that in the early days of Islam, the Dome of the Rock building was called “Bait al-Maqdess” [an Arabicized version of the Hebrew “Beit Hamikdash”], or the discovery of a First Temple-era papyrusthat names Jerusalem in early Hebrew script — are archaeological ammunition that can be used to break down the Palestinian lies.

Another public diplomacy path Israel can use is of course the countless quotes from the Bible, the Mishna, the Talmud, the New Testament, and the books of Roman Jewish historian Joseph ben Matityahu, also known as Josephus Flavius, who lived in the first century C.E. and witnessed the destruction of Jerusalem and the Second Temple.

Even a photocopy of an ancient manuscript by Persian Quran commentator Tafsir Al-Tabari, which was smuggled out of the University of Cairo library a few years ago by Egyptian nuclear scientist and Zionist Noha Hassid, joins the catalogue of evidence in favor of Israel.

The Al-Tabari document says that “Bait Al-Maqdess [the Temple] was built by Solomon, son of David, and was made of gold, pearls, rubies, and gems — peridot, paved with silver and gold, and had gold pillars.” Israeli public diplomacy has taken advantage of only a small amount of the professional literature by people like Reiter, Bahat, attorney Dr. Shmuel Berkowitz (author of “How Terrible is this Place” and “The Wars Over Holy Places”), or the books by former Foreign Ministry Director General Dr. Dore Gold or this author. All these works lay out documentation that proves that a good liar has to remember to whom he told the truth, and when.

Take, for example, the UNESCO classification of Rachel’s Tomb in Bethlehem as a “mosque,” and especially the Turkish support for that decision, do not square with the fact that the Ottoman Turks are the ones who, 185 years ago, issued fermans (mandates or decrees by an Islamic sovereign) that confirm the Jewish ties to Rachel’s Tomb and forbid “any person to prevent them [Jews] or oppose them from visiting there.”

Jordan’s dominant role in the campaign to make decision after decision that cancel and weaken Jewish links to Jerusalem and the Temple Mount is also out of step with the official map Jordan put out in 1965, only two years before the 1967 Six-Day War. The map was drawn by a Jordanian named Abdel Rahman, who worked as an official surveyor, and was approved by the Jordanian government’s Tourism Ministry. The map refers to the Temple Mount compound using the standard Muslim name al-Haram al-Sharif, but adds — significantly — that it is located “on Mount Moriah.”

The Palestinians and the Muslim Waqf, the body granted authority over all Muslim sites in Jerusalem, will also find it difficult to reconcile their total denial today that the Temple ever existed, calling it “Al-Mazoom” (the pretender, the false), with the content of a brief guidebook about the history of al-Haram al-Sharif-Jerusalem, which the Waqf itself published several editions of in the 1920s and 30s. At that time, the grand mufti of Jerusalem was Hajj Amin al-Husseini, whom many call the father of the Palestinian nationalist movement. He wrote, among other things, that “the identity of the site [the Temple Mount] with the Temple of Solomon is beyond all doubt.”

Redrawing the maps

The fact that the Palestinians moved from total denial of Jewish ties to the Temple Mount to denying any Jewish ties to the Western Wall is also easily repudiated, not only through archaeology and historical sources, but also by using the writings of Muslims themselves.

In recent years, the heads of the Waqf and the Northern Branch of the Islamic Movement [now outlawed] have put the Western Wall through a process of Islamization and appropriated it for the Muslim faith. The pinnacle was the baseless claim of Mahmoud Al-Habbash, former Religious Affairs Minister in the Palestinian Authority, that “no one other than the Muslims has ever used the Wall as a place of worship at any time in history, until after the unfortunate Balfour Declaration was issued in 1917.”

The results of this trend can be seen in the current Palestinian media. The official PA television station broadcast a documentary program that portrayed Jews praying at the Western Wall as “sinners” and “unclean,” and Jewish history as fake. The program made it clear: “We are now drawing up our maps. When the Jews disappear from the picture, like a forgotten chapter from the history of our city, we will rebuild the Mughrabi neighborhood on the Western Wall Plaza.”

Attorney Berkowitz, who researched the Muslim claims about the Western Wall, notes that Muslims never prayed on the Western side of the wall. Berkowitz found that the Western Wall isn’t even mentioned as a Muslim holy site in any of the official books and tour guides to al-Haram al-Sharif put out by the Waqf in 1914, 1965, or even 1990.

The entries for al-Buraq and al-Haram al-Sharif in the Encyclopaedia of Islam, published in 1917, make no mention of the Western Wall as a holy site, and do not identify the site with the place with al-Buraq, the wondrous steed of the Prophet Muhammad, who according to later Islamic tradition was tethered to the Western Wall at the end of his flight from Mecca to Jerusalem. The Western Wall is even referred to as the “Wailing Wall.”

Another book, by our friend Al-Aref, includes the Western Wall in a list of Jewish holy sites and describes it thusly: “The Western Wall is the outer wall of the Temple, which was built by Herod … and the Jews visit it often, especially at Tisha B’Av, and when they visit they remember the glorious, unforgettable history and begin to weep.”

Evidence from the son of the father of the Hebrew language

But Berkowitz’s most exciting discovery raises the suspicion that the relatively late holiness the Muslims assigned to the Western Wall was “wandering sanctity” to serve a political end. It turns out that until the 11th century C.E., Muslim scholars were divided about where Muhammad’s winged horse had been tethered, and indicated various locations throughout the Temple Mount compound. Some said the prophet’s horse was tethered south of the Golden Gate on the eastern wall. Others argued for the southern wall, but no one in that period said the horse had been tied to the Western Wall.

In the 11th century, explains Berkowitz, the Muslim residents of Jerusalem and Muslim geographers pointed out a certain place on the outer southern wall as the place where Muhammad’s horse was tied, and the double Huldah Gates in the southern wall, now blocked, as the gates through which the Prophet Muhammad entered the compound. Even as late as the 17th century, the spot on the southern wall was still accepted as the place where al-Buraq was tethered.

The earliest Muslim tradition that identified the “place al-Buraq was tethered” with the Jewish prayer site at the Western Wall is from the mid-19th century, when Jewish began bringing ritual object to the Wall and even trying to purchase the Western Wall and the courtyards that surround it from the Waqf.

In Berkowitz’s opinion, it’s almost certain that the Muslims moved the place where Muhammad supposedly entered the Temple Mount compound and the place he tied al-Buraq to the Western Wall as a response to the activity of the Jews. They even started calling it “al-Buraq.” They also built Al-Buraq mosque on the eastern side of the Western Wall, on top of the Berkley Gate, where they display an underground room as the spot where the prophet tied up his horse.

And here is one more important historical tidbit: In the Ottoman Period, the Muslims themselves are the ones who granted Jews fermans that recognized their right to the Western Wall and their right to pray there. The first ruler to do so was Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent in the second half of the 16th century, and after him the Turkish Sultan Abdulmecid [Abdul Majid] I in 1841. Itamar Ben-Avi, son of the reviver of the Hebrew language, Eliezer Ben-Yehuda, tells of a ferman that was granted to the Jews in 1868 and transferred to the Council of Jewish Bequests in London, only to disappear mysteriously.

Someone asked me which candidate I favored in the race for the Presidency in America. It’s like asking me whom I prefer – Santa Claus, Jesus, or the Virgin Mary? Or which food I like best – bacon, shrimp, or cheeseburgers?

I don’t know why Israeli newspapers and websites post so many stories about the United States political scene. Who cares about America? My grandmother, of blessed memory, used to say, “A curse on Columbus” for having discovered America, because America opened the gates to the plague of assimilation and intermarriage which is devouring the Jews in the “land of freedom.”

Let’s face it. When the great story of Jewish history is told, from the time of our forefather, Avraham, until the building of the Third Temple, may it be soon, the annals of America Jewry will fill up far less than a chapter. There will be a sentence about Babe Ruth, Sandy Koufax, and a mention of Steven Spielberg, and maybe Mark Spitz’s Olympic gold medals for swimming. But that’s about all.

In all fairness, the Rebbe of Chabad deserves more than passing recognition for his efforts to save the ship from sinking, but when you think about it, what contribution has American Jewry made to the 4000 year saga of Jewish History? What are its major accomplishments? Intermarriage, assimilation, Reform Judaism, being silent during the Holocaust? True, the American Jews were the first to package gefilte fish in jars. And the Jewish playwright, Arthur Miller, attained the American dream when he married Marilyn Monroe, but in what other ways has the exile in America contributed to the Redemption of the Jewish People in the Land of Israel, which is the true goal of Jewish History?

OK, Jews in America helped the Israelis plant trees on barren hillsides, and they contributed lots of money to many worthwhile endeavors – that’s certainly to their credit. But when push comes to shove, all of the temples in America & Jewish Federations, and Jewish entertainers and sports stars, aren’t going to fill more than a chapter in the “History of the Jews” when the book is finally written. So who cares about Hillary Trump or Donald Clinton? What really matters is what happens in Israel.

As Ben Gurion eloquently stated, “What matters is not what the goyim say, but what we do.” In the face of opposition and threats, he declared the establishment of the State of Israel, and the sky didn’t fall down. So too regarding the Six Day War. After weeks of trying to win the America’s approval of an Israeli offensive to thwart the amassed Arab legions which were poised to destroy the country, Levi Eshkol finally gave the IDF a green light, and the sky didn’t cave in when Israel demolished the enemy. So too when Israel acted alone in destroying the atomic reactor in Iraq.

When Israel asserts itself and does what it must to guard its own interests, when the smoke clears, and the hysterical screams of the goyim die down, the planets still remain in their orbits.

The obsessive preoccupation of articles, “Hillary will do this” & “Trump will do that,” reveals that a deep-seated fear of the goy and a lingering exile mentality are still plaguing the Jewish People. Instead of fixating our gazes toward America, we need to realize that we call the shots, not them. The center of world history, and the heart of the nations, is here in Jerusalem, not in New York.

If New York City agrees to suspend parking regulations during Rosh HaShanah, who cares other than the Jews of New York? What does it have to do with the rebuilding of the Nation of Israel in Eretz Yisrael?

Whichever candidate makes it to the White House really doesn’t matter in the long term. What matters is what we do here in Israel. The empires of Greece & Rome, of Spain & Nazi Germany, are nightmares that passed away & vanished, “full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.” Anyway, if Hillary Clinton & even Donald Trump are the very best that the US has to offer, then America is destined to follow the superpowers of the past into the garbage heap of history while the Kingdom of Israel remains.

MK Shuli Mualem (Jewish Home) said on Tuesday that starting on Wednesday, greater pressure will be exerted on Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to promote the so-called “Normalization Law”, which seeks to provide legal backing for Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria.

“Tomorrow after the elections in the United States we will intensify the pressure on the Prime Minister to pass the Normalization Law as quickly as possible and finish the process,” she wrote in the WhatsApp group for representatives of the Jewish Home in Samaria.

“There is a window of opportunity. No excuses this time. Trump or Clinton, the bottom line is they are better for Israel than Obama,” added Mualem.

Jewish Home chairman and Education Minister Naftali Bennett recently criticized what he called the “foot-dragging” of the Prime Minister towards the advancement of policies in lieu of legalizing the community of Amona, which is set to be demolished.

Netanyahu last month met with residents of Amona and Ofra in his office and told them, “Unwise conduct by Israel on the settlement enterprise before the end of President Barack Obama’s term could jeopardize the entire settlement enterprise.”

However, many political officials rejected the comments, as there has been a de facto construction freeze in Judea and Samaria for several years. They say Netanyahu is not interested in providing legal backing for communities that are slated for demolition.

Therefore, slavery or having sex with children or beating one’s wife, or calling rapes that do not have four witnesses adultery the punishment for which is death, or a woman officially having half the worth of a man, are all “human rights.”

In 2005, after the Danish cartoonist Kurt Westergaard drew a cartoon mildly satirizing Muhammad as an assignment for a newspaper, many Muslim clerics cried blasphemy and called for his death. These included a Pakistani cleric who offered a one million dollar reward to anyone who would murder the Dane. Thousands of Muslims protested. In 2010, an axe-wielding Muslim assailant attacked Westergaard in his home; fortunately, Westergaard was able to escape to a secure room.

Western governments should stand resolute against those who would blackmail us into giving up our freedoms. No intelligent government should impair the right of free speech to placate people who falsely claim they are victims when often they are, in fact, aggressors.

Reformist Muslims & the Credibility Crisis

Most of the world’s 1.6 billion Muslims may not countenance violence and human rights violations, but the fact remains that fundamentalists are not a fringe group; they occupy senior positions in the Muslim clerical hierarchy. There are tens of millions (or more) of them, & each seems to believe that his interpretation of Islam is the only correct one. Of this group, it is estimated that hundreds of thousands are Jihadis willing to engage in active violence.

Many Reformist Muslims claim they are being unfairly lumped into this extremist crew, but if they are claiming a schism, many they often have not been clear about it.

When Martin Luther, a Catholic priest and a theology professor, repudiated two core teachings of the Catholic Church, he acknowledged that, by definition, he was no longer Catholic. He was part of the Protestant Reformation, and his followers are called Lutherans.

Reformist Muslims still call themselves Muslims, but there can never be a Quran 2.0. Every word in the Quran is believed to be the word of Allah, similar to the Ten Commandments as the direct word of God; no one is able to say that Allah did not mean what Allah reportedly said. Interpretations, however do differ and since 1948 have apparently caused the deaths of 11,000,000 Muslims at the hands of other Muslims.

So one can imagine what might be in store for non-Muslims.

Islam, moreover, seems to have been has been set up to spread it both by violence, “hard jihad,” and “soft jihad. ” Hard jihad includes terrorism, murder and attempted murder. Soft jihad includes rewriting history as with the UNESCO vote claiming that ancient Biblical monuments such as Rachel’s Tomb or the Cave of the Patriarchs are Islamic, when historically Islam did not even exist until the seventh century; migration to widen Islam (hijrah), as we are seeing now in Europe and Turkish threats to flood Germany with migrants; cultural penetration such as promoting Islam in school textbooks or tailoring curricula for “political correctness“; political & educational infiltration, as well as intimidation (soft jihad with the threat of hard jihad just underneath it).

More regrettable is that these are so often done, as at UNESCO, with the help and complicity of the West.

Both hard and soft jihad are how Islam historically has been able to overrun Persia, Turkey, Greece, Southern Spain, Portugal, all of North Africa, and all of Eastern Europe. It is up to us not to let this be done to us again.
