All of these student loans that are forgiven—hundreds of billions of dollars, by the way—are paid for by the government. SOMEONE has to pay for them, the banks aren’t forgiving them and the schools aren’t forgiving them. That means that eventually all of us will pay for them through higher taxes. I’m guessing that some of the people crying loudest about taxes will be those whose loans were forgiven.
