Firestorm President and COO Jim Satterfield has announced an emergency webinar for businesses in preparation for Hurricane Sandy Hurricane Sandy is heading for the Northeast US. Whether it becomes a "Frankenstorm", Nor'easter, or a Category 1 Hurricane doesn't matter. In any form, people and companies are going to experience an unpleasant, unwanted Halloween Trick.
Sandy is a very large tropical cyclone. Hurricane force winds extend outward up to 100 miles primarily southwest of the center, and tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 450 miles from the center.
Firestorm has activated its
Hurricane Response Expert Panel for this critical webinar to make recommendations for personal and business response to this imminent threat. Firestorm has scheduled this webinar during the lunch hour on the East Coast so that companies may have staff join in.
The Firestorm Panel will include
emergency preparedness experts from: Military, Medical, Insurance, Emergency Supplies , Recovery & Restoration, Emergency Communications, Personal Preparedness, Legal Issues, Community Resiliency.
Said Jim Satterfield "While Sandy's pattern is similar to last year's hurricane, the water temperature is lower and wind impact may be less. Even given lower winds, surge threat and flooding are extremely likely, and combined with down trees and the possibility of ice, loss of power is expected as the hurricane moves inland. For businesses, now is the time to reconfirm call in numbers and messaging. The European model shows that Sandy has the potential to become a massive storm. If this model is correct, outages could be in days and even weeks."
