The volunteers and supporters of the award-winning nonprofit organization, "Pin-Ups For Vets" cheered for their popular Founder, Gina Elise, as she accepted an award as finalist in the "Social Entrepreneur" category at the 2012 "Spirit of the Entrepreneur Awards" event held on the evening of November 7th at the Ontario Convention Center in Ontario, California.

Founded in 2003 by the Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship (IECE) at California State University San Bernardino, the Spirit of the Entrepreneur Awards event has recognized and celebrated the accomplishments of more than 200 entrepreneurs as finalists and bestowed the coveted Spirit Award to 70 entrepreneurs in Southern California's Inland Empire. The 2012 judging panel selected nonprofit "Pin-Ups For Vets" Founder, Gina Elise, as a finalist from a field of over 150 competing entrepreneurs.

"I am truly honored to accept this finalist award for "Social Entrepreneur" on behalf of all the volunteers who have given thousands of hours of community service to the "Pin-Ups For Vets" organization that began its mission in 2006 to improve the lives of hospitalized Veterans here in the U.S., as well as our deployed troops around the globe," said Elise. " For all of us in the organization, everyday is Veterans Day !"

Pin-Ups For Vets has garnered many awards over the years from Oprah Winfrey, the California Jaycees Foundation, The California Jr. Chamber of Commerce, the Daily Points of Light Foundation, and the Los Angeles Business Journal.

Pin-Ups For Vets raises funds for medical equipment and program expansion to improve Veterans' healthcare, enhances quality of life for ill Veterans across the U.S. through personal bedside visits to deliver gifts of appreciation, promotes volunteerism at Veterans Hospitals, conducts morale-boosting events for military spouses, and boosts morale for deployed troops through the delivery of care packages.

"Of course, I would not be a good entrepreneur if I didn't say, " Please visit our website at : www.PinUpsForVets.com and order a 2013 Pin-Ups For Vets celebrity calendar for yourself, for a hospitalized Veteran, or for a deployed service member. I will personally deliver your calendar gift to an ill and injured Veteran, and the proceeds from your tax-deductible purchase will help us improve health care for Veterans across the U.S.," said Elise, whose organization's donations have helped to purchase new rehabilitation equipment for VA Hospitals.

"And don't forget that there are still thousands of deployed troops serving tours of duty across the globe. We encourage people to donate one of our office-friendly celebrity pin-up calendars to help us meet the many requests coming in from our service members who are currently serving our Country. These popular WW II-style pin-up calendars have been boosting morale in the combat zones since 2006," adds Elise, who is currently on a 50-state VA Hospital Tour.
