FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Dr. Obed Magny to Present Two Leadership and Evidence-Based Policing Sessions at 2026 ALEAP Conference in Gilbert, Arizona
Magny Leadership CEO will equip law-enforcement professionals with practical tools for front-line leadership, organizational trust, and evidence-informed decision-making
Dr. Obed Magny, CEO and owner of Magny Leadership, will present two professional-development sessions at the 2026 Arizona Law Enforcement Accreditation Program (ALEAP) Conference, scheduled for September 29–October 1, 2026, at the Gilbert Public Safety Training Facility in Gilbert, Arizona.
Drawing on nearly two decades of law-enforcement service and his work as an organizational leadership consultant, executive coach, speaker, and creator of the M.A.G.N.Y. Leadership Model®, Dr. Magny will address two issues that directly affect the strength, credibility, and effectiveness of public-safety organizations: how leaders show up under pressure and how agencies can use evidence without treating evidence-based policing as an academic exercise.
The two sessions are titled "Leading From the Front" and "Evidence-Based Policing Without the PhD." Both presentations are designed to provide attendees with practical frameworks that can be applied immediately within their agencies, units, and leadership roles.
Leading From the Front: Visible Responsibility, Clear Standards, and Trusted Leadership
"Leading From the Front" will challenge the common assumption that front-line leadership is primarily about visibility, authority, or being the person with all the answers. Instead, Dr. Magny will frame front-line leadership as visible responsibility: facing difficult realities, respecting people while holding standards, navigating pressure without spreading panic, and turning commitments into measurable action.
The presentation will introduce the F.R.O.N.T. framework:
-
Face reality by naming problems precisely and separating facts from assumptions.
-
Respect people by communicating clarity with dignity rather than avoiding difficult conversations.
-
Own the standard by making expectations visible and addressing behavior that undermines them.
-
Navigate pressure by regulating the leader's response before it regulates the organization.
-
Turn commitment into action by clarifying ownership, timelines, measures, and follow-up.
Participants will leave with a practical leadership audit and a seven-day action plan to strengthen clarity, accountability, trust, and follow-through in their current roles.
Evidence-Based Policing Without the PhD: Ask Better Questions, Use What You Learn, Improve What You Do
"Evidence-Based Policing Without the PhD" will reframe evidence-based policing as a disciplined management practice rather than a subject reserved for academics or research specialists. Dr. Magny will show attendees how to define a problem, ask a better operational question, locate the best available evidence, test an approach locally, and evaluate what changes.
The session will introduce the P.A.C.E. framework:
-
Pinpoint the problem before choosing a solution.
-
Ask a better question that can guide action and learning.
-
Consult the best available evidence without waiting for perfect information.
-
Evaluate locally by measuring results, listening to affected stakeholders, and adjusting responsibly.
The presentation will emphasize that evidence does not eliminate professional judgment. Rather, it gives leaders a stronger basis for challenging assumptions, improving practice, allocating resources, and explaining decisions to the people they serve.
"Public safety organizations need leaders who can do two things at the same time: hold people and systems accountable while remaining committed to learning. Leading from the front is about the courage to face what is difficult. Evidence-based policing is about the discipline to test what we believe. Together, those practices help agencies build trust that can withstand pressure."
Dr. Magny's approach is grounded in the M.A.G.N.Y. Leadership Model®, which centers on five leadership commitments: Motivate with Empathy; Align Goals and Values; Grow Emotional Intelligence; Nurture Trust and Psychological Safety; and Yield Results with Compassion. He applies the model across leadership development, executive coaching, mentoring, organizational advisory services, speaking, and consulting engagements.
"Law-enforcement professionals are being asked to lead through staffing challenges, public scrutiny, operational complexity, technological change, and rising expectations," said [Insert approved attribution or use the suggested quote above]. "They do not need abstract encouragement. They need practical tools that help them make better decisions, have clearer conversations, strengthen trust, and improve the work."
The ALEAP Conference brings together law-enforcement professionals and public-safety leaders for training, networking, accreditation insights, and the exchange of practices that can strengthen Arizona agencies. Dr. Magny's sessions will contribute to that mission by connecting leadership behavior with organizational performance, public trust, and continuous improvement.
