HOUSTON, Texas — August 16, 2026 — Dr. Obed Magny, founder of Magny Leadership, organizational leadership consultant, and former police officer with nearly two decades of service, delivered a leadership presentation at the FBI National Academy Associates of Texas' 5th Annual Leadership for Women in Law Enforcement Training Conference, held August 12–14 in Houston.
 
Speaking to an audience of sworn and civilian professionals across ranks and leadership levels, Dr. Magny's session, "Leading Authentically. Impacting Intentionally.", offered a direct challenge to capable professionals who work hard, carry responsibility, and still find themselves overlooked when consequential opportunities arise.
 
"Excellence is the entry fee," Dr. Magny told attendees. "But intention is what expands your influence. You cannot build the leadership career you want by waiting to be recognized. You build it by learning to communicate with clarity, develop strategic relationships, lead people with emotional intelligence, and protect the capacity required to keep showing up."
 
The presentation introduced five practical leadership tools designed to help attendees accelerate their professional impact: strategic visibility, leadership language, emotional intelligence, career architecture, and resilience architecture. Dr. Magny also integrated the M.A.G.N.Y. Leadership Model®, his leadership framework centered on motivating with empathy, aligning goals and values, growing emotional intelligence, nurturing trust and psychological safety, and yielding results with compassion.
 
The session addressed a reality many professionals know well: strong performance alone does not automatically translate into influence, advancement, or lasting impact. Participants were encouraged to move beyond a "work hard and wait" mindset by identifying the rooms where decisions are made, speaking with evidence and purpose, building a deliberate career path, and cultivating resilience without confusing suppression for strength.
 
"Women in law enforcement are often expected to be exceptional before they are even considered," Dr. Magny said. "My goal was to give every person in that room—not just future executives, but emerging leaders at every level—tools they can use immediately to lead more visibly, more courageously, and more humanely."
