If you’re single and searching for a marriage partner in the US, you can feel like you’re in the minority as a marriage-minded single person. You may even wonder if you’re the only one left in the entire country!

The good news is you’re not and other marriage-minded singles do exist!

In 2022, there were 61.44 million couples that married in the United States. And 2023 is on track for about the same number of nuptials.

So how do you identify marriage-minded singles for dating?

There are several signs to be aware of to recognize other marriage-minded singles:

  • They will openly tell you that marriage is their goal for dating.
  • They have been married before and talk fondly about their marriage experience. Widowers are most likely in this category.
  • They will say they’re looking for a marriage partner in their online profile.
  • If you ask a marriage-minded single, “How do you like dating?” their response will be, “It sucks!”
  • All their friends and siblings are married and they’re the only ones unattached in their social circle.

Although the goal of marriage seems to be less common among singles these days, it does remain an important aspect of life for many Americans. In 2021, 47.3% of households in the US had married couples.

So if you think that marriage is out of style, then think again!

But bear in mind it’s not for everyone, nor should it be.

Marriage takes a commitment to each other, and a desire to build something lasting together.

Marriage-minded singles are willing to make compromises and look for what’s best for both of you as a couple over what’s best for the individual.

Marriage requires the ability to work through conflict and seek to understand instead of holding your ground.
