It's interesting: this new strain of NBA player that has surfaced.

This rare never seen before strain looks at fist glance like it is about the freedom to work where you want to work. At closer glance, it is not about players deciding their own destiny.

it is about a very few number of players deciding their destiny.

carmelo, he of the past dreadlock/braids, finally gets his way and comes to the big apple to play.

so you say, a player threw off the shackles of the NBA slavery and gets to play where he wants to play.

problem is, you now have four players who are going to denver, who had no say. they go to denver in exchange for carmelo. so one player got his way and four will be sleeping in a different bed tonite, and for the duration of their contract. and they had no say.

so let's be very clear. this is not about a player getting to decide where he plays. this is about a very small number of players, in this case, one fifth of the players involved. getting to decide.
