CNN iReport has named The UPstander Omekongo Dibinga as the "iReport Pundit of the Week" Every week, CNN highlights contributors to their iReport page. CNN's iReport allows viewers to be part of CNN coverage as part of CNN 's attempt to "look at news from different angles." To this end, every week, CNN iReport honors an "iReporter who regularly offers thoughtful commentary to the iReport community." Omekongo was chosen as the second "Pundit of the Week Award" recipient.

CNN describes Omekongo as a "renaissance man" who is "never afraid to tell you where he stands." Omekongo has been a CNN iReporter since 2009 and is approaching close to 1,000,000 views on his iReport page. His views have appeared on the majority of CNN television programming. Says Omekongo of the honor: "I love working with CNN. CNN's iReport not only allows us to cover news, but it engages all involved in an international dialogue about the pressing issues of the day. I am a firm believer that we make change not through party-line rhetoric, but through true dialogue. It's even more honored that I am only the second person to receive this honor."
