Children begin learning about money at home from the influential people in their lives right from the time they are toddlers. Modelling and learning from observation are two of the most powerful methods of learning in all young children. Many parents these days are wondering if what they are teaching their children is leading to dependency or self-sufficiency. That is exactly why Nancy Phillips, mother of two and founder of DollarSmartKids Enterprises, has created an audio program to help parents teach their children financial life skills relevant to today's rapidly changing world.

Phillips says, "Learning good financial habits can transform a child's future. Financial decision making skills are used each day and impact every part of a person's life from health to relationships to careers and opportunities. Parents everywhere want to help their children learn these essential skills but aren't sure where to start or what to say and do. This audio program was developed so moms and dads can listen to all the essential concepts their children will need to learn about, in one evening and in the comfort of their own home."

Children must have the opportunity to practice in order to learn from successes and disappointments. "Teaching kids money skills is very similar to teaching them a sport," comments Phillips. "You start with the basic fundamentals and show the children how to practice them during daily life. The kids learn more and more from their experiences over time and from consistent guidance. Parents don't need to worry about being investment or math geniuses; the principles are universal and not complex. However, the skills must be taught and practiced for the children to benefit in the long-term. Learning is about repetition, experience and emotion, so it's memorable. They don't learn by having somebody else do it for them. An added benefit is that many parents comment to me how they are learning to create good habits for themselves, while they teach their children!"

The audio program comes with a workbook which illustrates the key money milestones for children to learn about relative to their age. Some of the key topics addressed in the program include:

*The Zela Wela Kids Financial House - Kids Money Milestones by Age

*The number one trait in children that predicts future financial success in adulthood

*Damaging mistakes every parent should avoid

*A simple yet powerful wealth building habit that's easy to learn

*The importance of entrepreneurial thinking for children today

*The power of giving

*Answers to all your allowance questions

*Why saving and opening a bank account is so important to your child's financial future.

*What to say to your teens during "the talk" about credit cards

*Habits of the wealthy

"If we can increase the financial capabilities of our youth, it will significantly affect not only their personal financial well-being but that of their family and society as a whole."
