FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Portland, Oregon (11.1.11) – Starlet Sanaa Lathan has answered Shoe Revolt's question "What shoes do you have to kick sex trafficking to the curb?"

Lathan was born in New York City in 1971 to a family made for show biz. Her mother was on Broadway, and her father worked behind the scenes in television for PBS. Sanaa went on to attend University of California at Berkeley studying English. After getting her masters at the Yale School of Drama, Lathan moved back to New York and began performing in off-Broadway shows such as "A Movie Star Has to Be Born in Black and White." Her father saw her talent and convinced her to move back to California and experience Hollywood. Lathan's career began on sitcoms such as Family Matters and Moesha. She has since starred in major hits such as The Family that Preys, Alien vs. Predator, and most recently, Contagion.

Sanaa Lathan donated a pair of white and blue Dolce & Gabana slingback sandals from her personal closet to Shoe Revolt, an Oregon nonprofit that fights commercial sex trafficking in the U.S. through shoes. The shoes are on sale now for $375.00 – a steal for these adorable, autographed designer heels!

Shoe Revolt takes donations of shoes and sells them on their online boutique to raise funds for programs that support survivors of commercial sex trafficking. One of those programs, the Hope House, explains what having Shoe Revolt's support means to them, "(The Shoe Revolt mission) is creative and effective. Not only is Shoe Revolt raising awareness, they are providing much needed funds to programs such as Hope House. By joining arms with us, they are also saving lives!"
