Actress Sanaa Lathan Donates Shoes to Shoe Revolt
Tony Award nominee Sanaa Lathan has supported Shoe Revolt's mission to fight domestic sex trafficking by donating shoes to the online boutique; all proceeds raised will fund anti-trafficking initiatives in the United States.
Shoe Revolt is based in Beaverton, Oregon. We are working to eradicate human trafficking through purchasing power. Shoe Revolt collects shoe donations which are then sold on our website. One hundred percent of profits go toward creating strategies to build new and support existing rescue centers that house, heal, educate, and decriminalize survivors.
Shoe Revolt is incredibly grateful for Lathan's donation. The funds generated from the sale will provide much-needed support for rescue centers in the United States that assist survivors of the commercial sex trade. Most victims are children, and once rescued, they have nowhere to turn to gain the necessary resources for survival. Donations such as Lathan's allow Shoe Revolt to continue supporting rescue centers for children to ensure that they remain safe.
Lathan, who was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Performance by a Featured Actress for her performance on Broadway in "A Raisin in the Sun", also starred in the 2010 all-black performance of "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" at the Novello Theatre in London. Lathan has also starred in a number of films and television shows, including "Nip/Tuck", "Love & Basketball", "Alien vs. Predator", "Something New" and "The Family That Preys".
