ASTRO hires new quality improvement director

The American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) has hired Nadine Eads as director of quality improvement. Eads will lead the newly formed Quality Improvement Department as ASTRO continues its efforts to promote quality improvement across the specialty.

Eads brings over 15 years of health care experience to ASTRO. She received her bachelor's degree and master's degree in nursing science at Howard University in Washington and became a licensed family nurse practitioner. Prior to ASTRO, Eads was a quality improvement administrator consultant at Raytheon Health Solutions Group. She also has oncology clinical experience at Washington Cancer Institute and quality experience at IRIS partner, LLP. Eads is also a founding member of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation African-American Advisory Board.

At ASTRO, Eads will manage the quality improvement activities and programs including measures development, self-assessment program, Performance Assessment for the Advancement of Radiation Oncology Treatment Program and the Radiation Oncology Practice Accreditation program. She is responsible for maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and will coordinate quality improvement activities across ASTRO departments.
