Summer is upon us and we urge our readers to become active in your communities to educate the public regarding drowning prevention and emergency management. There are numerous resources that can be utilized, including the Consumer Product Safety Commission's Pool Safely programs, the National Drowning Prevention Alliance, and others. These courses are designed to provide First Responders with the knowledge and/or skills required to safely and effectively respond to incidents in, on and around the water. These courses meet and/or exceed NFPA 1670 Standard for Technical Rescue. These courses will all be offered in the Kennebunkport, Maine area.
