Los Angeles, CA - October 1, 2015 - Medicare's Open Enrollment season which commences October 15th typically brings along a significant increase in the number of consumers seeking information and cost comparisons reports the American Association for Medicare Supplement Insurance.

"Medicare's Open Enrollment Period is the catalyst for heightened interest in Medicare options," explains Jesse Slome, director of the American Association for Medicare Supplement Insurance, a national organization that advocates for sensible planning.   Medicare Open Enrollment runs from October 15 through December 7.

"Medicare health and drug plans can make changes each year," Slome notes.  "Costs and coverages for the various options available to those on Medicare can change and understanding changes and making informed decisions regarding your health care plans can be a daunting task."   October 15 to December 7 is when all people with Medicare can change their Medicare health plans and prescription drug coverage for the following year to better meet their needs, the expert explains.

To assist consumers seeking information, the organization offers connections with Medicare insurance specialists.  "The options and choices can be confusing to consumers, so while we do not sell insurance products, we gladly connect interested consumers with knowledgeable insurance professionals who will educate and offer comparisons for their specific area," Slome notes.
