long term care insurance facts in 2015 LTC Sourcebook

May 19, 2015, Los Angeles, CA -  A study of 85,000 individuals who purchased long term care insurance protection in 2014 finds many individuals are buying larger benefit amounts.

"An important change is taking place in how people purchase long term care insurance protection," explains Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance (AALTCI).  The Association conducted the research in preparation for publishing its 2015 Long Term Care Sourcebook, a compendium of industry data and studies.

"From the initial results, this year may mark the greatest change in buyer patterns with an increase at both ends of the cost spectrum," Slome notes.  "We're seeing more people who are buying smaller policies which is consistent with our advocacy for some protection always being better than none, and some buying larger benefit amounts which is likely reflective of the economic recovery."

The 28-page LTC Sourcebook will be published this summer by the Association and is sent free of charge to the organization's membership.  Bulk copies are also distributed via leading committed insurance carriers and other marketing organizations that offer LTC solutions.
