When it's time to leave a job, resignation letters can be an important last step in severing ties with an employer, even when the worker is parting on good terms. The Web site ResignationLetters.biz, which recently added a dozen new free printable resignation letter samples, can make the letter-writing process easier.

"Resigning from a job is a big step, and it's not always easy to find the right words," said Kevin Savetz, the site's creator. "ResignationLetters.biz provides a format and starting point for a variety of situations, from retirement to forced resignation.

The site offers, for free, resignation letters for special situations such as resigning due to a move, resigning while pregnant and resigning for medical reasons. The newest examples include resignation letters designed for teachers and nurses.

There are both formal and friendly letters for common situations such as giving two weeks' notice, asking for a leave of absence and so on. There is even a funny resignation letter.

Not all of the letters apply to traditional jobs. Some of the new resignation letters include sample letters for resigning from a volunteer position or board of directors, or resigning from church membership.

ResignationLetters.biz also has several articles with hints and tips on the resignation letter-writing process as well as how to leave a job gracefully.

"Resignation letters are often not just a polite formality but a legal requirement in some industries," Savetz said. "Whenever possible, it's best to leave a position on a high note and not burn any bridges. So, wording and professionalism are crucial in letters like this."

Savetz is also the creator of a new Web site, ComplaintLetter.net, which offers 40 free sample complaint letters as well as articles on how to write an effective complaint letter. There are templates with the letters completely written (just alter them to suit your needs) and fill-in-the-blank complaint letters for common situations such as consumer issues with cell phone service providers, hotels, nursing homes, faulty products, inadequate repairs, and more.

"On both sites, the example letters are all professionally written, taking into account the most effective structure and language," Savetz said. "The letters can be used as inspiration for an original letter, or edited to suit a specific situation and used nearly as-is."

All of the letters are designed in business letter format and are free to download and print. They can be opened and edited with Microsoft Word, Google Docs and other word processors, or cut and pasted directly from the ResignationLetters.biz or ComplaintLetter.net sites.

There are more than 60 sites in the FreePrintable.net family of free printables sites created by Savetz Publishing, Inc., a company devoted to creating useful and informative web sites of interest to consumers and small businesses.
