VIENNA, Va., May 3, 2016 - Today MicroTech, an Information Technology (IT), Network Services and Cloud Computing company, announced that it has been independently appraised at Development (DEV) Level 3 and Services (SVC). Level 3 of the CMMI Institute's Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI)® and in addition to the CMMI ML3 accomplishment, MicroTech also achieved ISO/IEC 27001:2013 for Information Security management practices.
CMMI® is a capability improvement approach that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes that ultimately improve performance. Achieving Level 3 under dual constellations: Development (DEV) and Services (SVC) indicates the company is performing at a "defined" level, employing processes that are well characterized and understood, and are described in standards, procedures, tools, and methods.
The ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification is an international standard that formally outlines requirements for an information security management system (ISMS) to help protect and secure organizations' data. ISO/IEC 27001:2013 is only awarded to companies that have continually demonstrated the highest level of information security management.
