Tune in WGN, on radio or online, 10/26 for Anne Nordhaus-Bike's astrology of Halloween.

Halloween is a time for youngsters and adults alike to dress up in costumes and have fun, but did you know there is an astrological and energetic history to the holiday?

Astrologer Anne Nordhaus-Bike will talk about "The Astrology of Halloween" on the Frank Fontana Show on WGN-Radio AM 720 this Sunday, Oct. 26, between 1 and 3 p.m. Listen live on your radio if you're in the Chicago metro area, or listen online on any computer or mobile device, from anywhere in the world, at http://wgnradio.com/on-air/

Halloween, Scorpio, and Endings

"On Halloween this year, the Moon will be on its way to becoming full on Nov. 6," Nordhaus-Bike said. "When it's in this phase, the lunar energy can feel strong and even intense--werewolves, anyone? So it's no wonder the Moon really fits with all the Halloween symbolism."

Also, Halloween always comes during the Scorpio time of year, and Nordhaus-Bike will talk about that sign's strong astrological energy as well.

"We all become honorary Scorpios for a month in late October and most of November," she explained. "So we'll be discussing what Scorpio energy means for all of us.

"And there's a very old tradition that the year actually ends with Halloween, with a new year starting the next day," she continued. "That's another very Scorpionic concept. Scorpios are confident and high energy, so of course they feel the year begins with them! But we can all tap into the high energy that comes around at this time of year to get ourselves ready for the hustle and bustle of the holidays."

If time allows, Nordhaus-Bike and Fontana also will talk about the lost continent of Lemuria—the lesser known Pacific Ocean counterpart of the lost continent of Atlantis—and its connection with this time of year.

"According to mystics and sages down through the ages, Lemuria was a very mystical place, tapped into the symbolism of astrology, so we'll share some insight about this interesting but often forgotten land with listeners," Nordhaus-Bike said.
