Pin-Ups For Vets Founder Gina Elise Salutes Hospitalized Vets 365 Days Of The Year

With, the "National Salute to Veteran Patients" week being celebrated from February 10th to the 16th, one award-winning nonprofit organization will be supporting America's ill and injured Veterans during that week, just exactly like they do every week of the year.

The popular charity, Pin-Ups For Vets, has been working 365 days of the year, for the past seven years, to help improve the lives of and to boost morale for American's service members who are hospitalized in VA Medical Centers across the country and overseas.

"We produce popular WWII-style pin-up calendars and "Kiss A Vet" T-shirts that we deliver directly to the Veterans in the VA Hospitals and military hospitals across the U.S.," explains Pin-Ups For Vets Founder, Gina Elise. "Our 1940's-style volunteer calendar girls have made thousands of personal bedside visits to our Nation's ill and injured Veterans on our '50-state VA Hospital Tour.' We have also visited our Wounded Warriors at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany to treat them to a special homemade meal to show our appreciation for their service."

Elise explains that the proceeds from the merchandise purchased on the organization's website, www.PinUpsForVets.com, go to support many programs, including the purchase of new rehabilitation equipment to help the Veteran patients in their physical, occupational, and cognitive therapy programs.

While people across the U.S. are celebrating Valentine's Day, the Pin-Ups For Vets organization wants everyone to remember our Veterans who dedicated a part of their lives to serve our country.

"We encourage everyone to visit our website's 'Order Now' page at:  www.pinupsforvets.mybigcommerce.com  and order an appreciation gift for a hospitalized Veteran.  We will be honored to deliver the donated appreciation gifts, with personal messages, on our upcoming VA Hospital visits !    Veteran supporters can also order items that we can send directly to them, so that they can personally make the visits to their own local VA Hospitals in their own states", says Elise.

"Our Veteran patients often tell our volunteer calendar girls who deliver the gifts, 'When you are here, my pain is gone!' or 'This is the best thing that has happened to me during my hospital stay!' states Elise, who has personally seen the positive effects of these personal bedside visits to hospitalized Veterans who are dealing with illness, injuries, burns, amputations, traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries, and PTSD.

"One Veteran who had suffered a traumatic brain injury and had not spoken in a month, finally said his first words to us as our volunteers visited his bedside. There is no underestimating the importance of these hospital visits to our hospitalized Nation's Heroes! For many of our Veterans who do not receive visitors during their hospital stays, these surprise visits and gifts of appreciation do much to boost morale for our Veterans who have served in all decades from WWII, to the Korean War, to the Vietnam War, to the Gulf War, to the youngest Veterans coming home from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan," explains Elise.

Gina Elise and the volunteers of the Pin-Ups For Vets organization encourage everyone to take time out during the week of February 10-16 to call the Volunteer Services office at their local VA or military hospital to arrange a visit to thank a Veteran. "Those words of "thanks" mean so much to our Nation's Heroes", says Pin-Up-In-Chief Gina Elise, who has personally thanked and delivered gifts to over 5,000 of America's Veteran patients across the country on her VA Hospital Tour.

" Helping those who have given their mind, body, and spirit in the defense of our Nation is the best Valentine gift of all," exclaims Elise. "Our Veterans deserve all the support we can give them."
