About: Space & Ocean Exploration:The Alternative to the Military Industrial Complex by Danny Quintana is a policy alternative to reduce defense spending without increasing unemployment. It is common knowledge the United States spends more money on defense than the next 20 nations combined. Clearly, much of the spending is hidden from public scrutiny in other agencies and re-labeled under other priorities. The true size of the U.S. defense budget was about 931 billion for 2013. My goals is to redirect U.S. military spending to explore space and oceans while specifically trying to establish strict protections for the world's great fisheries.

About: The Ocean River Institute, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corp, helps people and groups make a difference where they live through environmental stewardship and science. Many environmental issues are best addressed by people taking action in their own communities and regions, not by large, national entities. However, localized or newly formed groups often need help to achieve their goals. Thats where ORI comes in. We maintain a network of ORI Partners, connecting them with resources and services to help them maximize their impact, expand their capacity and weather unanticipated setbacks. ORI Actions and Events offer opportunities to make a difference for environments

Superior’s weather and waves have taken thousands of sailors and their ships to the grave.
