About: Karen Gedney MD, Internist, prison physician. Author of '30 Years Behind Bars', speaker, mentor, consultant and advocate for holistic prison reform. Noted as one of the best in the business by the American Correctional Society, awarded Nevada's Heroes for Humanity award for her work in HIV, and chosen to be the first recipient of the 'Service to Society Award,' by Clark University, MA. Dynamic, unique speaker who survived being a hostage in prison and turned her crisis into a calling that motivates others to take part in solving complex societal problems like mass incarceration.

About: Born in Chicago, Serita (a registered nurse) came out to Los Angles when offered a teaching job at USC. With her master’s in writing (with honors) from Antioch University in London, England, she went on to become well known in the romance and mystery field. As an investigative reporter for CBS (Chicago), she helped discover a hospital in the northern suburb who pretended to heal cancer patients with falsified alternative methods. She has published /produced over 40 books, scripts, adaptations, and teaches writing, as well. In addition, she is a forensic nurse helping attorneys with med mal cases, helping domestic violence victims, as well as sexual assault victims, death investigation, and others. Her work, The Book of Poisons, from Writer's Digest, has helped a number of writers, directors, and producers with their medical, forenisc, poison questions for their stories and used as a consultant on a number of shows.
