retired police officer from New York, on NBC's "The Today Show"
with Matt Lauer to addresss the allegation that police misconduct
is a growing problem. LEAA believes that the vast majority of
police officers do really great work under tough conditions and
they need our support.
George W. Bush meets with LEAA President, a former Killeen, Texas
police officer and FOP lodge president, John Chapman. Chapman
reaffirmed LEAA's long-time support of President Bush, dating
back to when LEAA supported his original run for Texas Governor
in 1994. LEAA was the first national police association to
announce its support for Bush in the 2000 presidential
election.
