Nonfiction Writers can start and finish a work in 30 days during the WNFIN Challenge, aka National Nonfiction Writing Month.

Every year writers around the world wait for November. They count down the days until November 1. That's when they take the challenge.

Many write novels in November, during National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo). More and more nonfiction writers take part in National Nonfiction Writing Month (NaNonFiWriMo), best know as the Write Nonfiction in November (WNFIN) Challenge.

"With all this writing going on—books of all types, essays, articles, proposals, manifestos, and more—a few years ago I decided November should actually be called National Writing Month," says Nina Amir, founder of the WNFIN Challenge and author of How to Blog a Book and The Author Training Manual (Writer's Digest Books, Feb. 2014).

Rise to the Writing Challenge

Any nonfiction writer can rise to the challenge during November. Just start and finish a work of nonfiction of any type or length in 30 days. WNFIN is a personal challenge, not a contest. It's about meeting your own goals and achieving your potential.

"All it takes is a decision," Amir explains. "Make up your mind to devote November to writing that nonfiction project that has been in your head. Decide to get it out of your mind and onto paper—in 30 days or less."

Get Writing Support

As you do so, Amir's blog, Write Nonfiction NOW!, and a brand new FREE forum support you. You can register for the forum and then communicate with other participants during the month. This allows them to serve as accountability partners and a support group. You can chat with participants in the official WNFIN Challenge Facebook page.

Plus, anyone can read the 30 blog posts written by experts in the areas of creativity, craft, publishing, promotion, and authorpreneurship that are published during the WNFIN Challenge. This provides educational support to all nonfiction writers and those taking the challenge. They remain on the Write Nonfiction NOW! blog all year long.

This year, WNFIN has an amazing roster of 28 expert guest bloggers. (The remaining days are covered by Amir.) They include:
  1. Rachel Cornell, The Pronagger
  2. Laura West, creative business coach
