Sacred Sites and Drinking Water at risk

Keeping it Prayerful- Civility through Prayer….Sioux and Lakota moving to Winter Camps.

Groups nationally are sending in 1 million postcards to President Obama by Christmas.

2100 vets were expected last weekend and a waiting list of vigilantes and friends headed either home for rest or returning of a second wave of protectors.  Engaged people are protecting the Missouri River and reservation members dependant on clean water below the pipeline site.  Some say that the roads are blocked and supplies won't flow, but the humanitarian reason for the protest is the danger of spills, of the emissions, of the harm to the water supply for 8 million downstream besides reservation rights and treaties and spiritual sites.

Both sides don't believe they can stand down, but children are pulling petition stats on change.org

The DAPL has been almost completed and more and more citizens are standing with Standing Rock.  The Army Corps of Engineers has stopped now to look at rerouting the pipeline and halted on the last section under the Missouri River.  Cheers went out when the news was heard.

Winter weather aside protests continue and an ecovillage is being prepared South of the Cannon Ball River.

The goal sustainability, new energy options, straw bail buildings, and storage- a new promise and commitment to keep those protesting warm and to focus on investments that are sustainable for future generations.

Whatever happens it seems this protest has the whole world watching with air, water, sacred sites, and safety at risk. (Donations to the sacred stone go fund me camp and many others.)

Floodplain safety is being enforced by the Army Corps of Engineers.  "The request is to find a way to have energy resources that do not mortgage humanities future.  Find ways to repurpose the danger for a life giving possibility.  Give a gift to construct options over the holiday."  If you can't take the cold this week you could weigh in by sending a postcard this week or  read about the DAPL and talk to a credible source of information like "Food and Water Watch", or the EPA, help your local government and business representatives to understand the issues and objections and for the sake of our children and grandchildren let another voice not just the one that belongs to the investors be heard.
