Money can’t buy enthusiasm and it does not replace a winning message & strategy. But it is one of the key factors in an election campaign – nothing more and nothing less. If a campaign is outspent by more than a ratio of 1 to 2, it even becomes a critical factor. In that sense, election day is definitely the wrong time to run out of money. The Biden campaign can use its fundraising advantage to force Trump to spend money in states that he would rather not want to spend time and money at this point in time. It is in that angle that I see the announcement by Michael Bloomberg to spend another 15 million in Ohio and Texas. My quote in a piece by Erik Sherman for the newswire Zenger, picked up by Forbes.
