What’s next for TPP?

The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) is a 21st-century trade agreement among the United States and 11 other nations to make American businesses and workers more competitive in international markets – dropping tariffs and tightening rules to provide greater protections for U.S. exporters. But Congress and the White House need to work through outstanding issues, determine the timing for introduction and approve TPP legislation.
 
Because both leading presidential candidates oppose TPP, we need to act now. If TPP is not introduced and passed by Congress this year, 99.6 percent of American companies exporting tech products or innovative services won’t receive immediate, duty-free access or other protections.
