President Macron, you say patriotism is the exact opposite of nationalism?

And you say this boldly in the presence of “America First." President Donald J. Trump?

Do you really think “nationalism is a betrayal of patriotism,." as you went on to say at the ceremony marking 100 years since the end of World War 1?

So allow me to carry this illogic a bit further.

If nationalism is a betrayal of patriotism, then Mr. Macron, I would submit gluttony is a betrayal of over eating, pomposity is a betrayal of pretentiousness and flatulence a betrayal of farting.

More aptly, a ridiculous head of state is a betrayal of one making such inane, absurd statements alas in the presence of the president of the one country who has done so much and given so much for France.

I would just be thankful, President Macron, that there’s a nationalist, patriotic, moral-minded country like the United States of America standing by to insure that France remains free from the chains of fascism as it once was entrapped during the last world war.

Vive la France!
