What Would Lyndon Do?
In the light of the daily onslaught of what is coming out of Washington, We must reflect on what President Lyndon Johnson would have done about Donald Trunp. Johnson was one of most powerful, and ruthless politicians of the 20th century.
Johnson really did steal an election It was the 1948 Texas, Senatorial election. And he would not hesitate to do , or did not care whatever that was needed to be done, to accomplish his goals. Millions of my generation hated him for prolonging the war in Viet Nam and he did not care, because he would not allow himself to be thhe first President to lose a war. .
But Johnson would have never, disgraced and, or ignored the Constitution; or besmirch the office of President. He cherish being the President and all the great
traditions it instilled. The respect he had for the Presidency was beyond enormous.
This was because he always wanted to be the President, and at one point gave up all
hopes of becoming it, and only by happenstance gained it.
On the other hand Trump has no use for the Constitution or any respect for the greatest office in the world.
It has been 56 years since Lyndon Johnson left the White House.
If he were alive today, he would not put up with Trump. He would use
all of his skills and experience as the ruthless politician he was to
find a way to reclaim our country back from Trump. I don't know exactly what
Lyndon would do, but I would bet my life that old boy from the "hill country" of Texas
would do something and not just complain about it.
