Ride The Elephant Book Launch

Detroit MI, March 29—Dr. Ray McKinley invites everyone to ask themselves what elephant is lurking in their room that is causing unspoken blockage, pain and blame? McKinley's first book, Ride The Elephant, launches April 1st and guides readers on a life-changing journey to overcoming any adversity, and taking control of their lives.

In the book, McKinley stresses the importance of taking responsibility for our lives. "We are personally responsible for everything that happens in our life. Period," says McKinley. "People go to blame, excuse-making, and unforgiveness instead of taking personal responsibility for the way they respond to things in their life."

Ride the Elephant guides readers through the process of self-analyzing and reflection as they deconstruct themselves, confront the elephant in the room, and then rebuild themselves in a new light with renewed hope, faith, self-esteem, and happiness.

The genesis for the book came after McKinley taught a high school class on Business Character Values. While in the class, McKinley set every student up with a mentor from businesses or church leaders.  "After teaching this material, I felt that there was a lot of pain and suffering in young students while being in high school and going off to college," McKinley says. "This wasn't dissimilar to the challenges that I've had. I started the class 15 years ago, and put the concepts into fact and developed the 12 dichotomies that are in the book."

Students and leaders encouraged him to take the unique teachings of his class and write a book so that others could experience the journey, and other schools could create programs of their own.

McKinley invites everyone to join him on his virtual book launch celebration on April 6, at 7:00 PM EST, where he will discuss the book and how this inspiring work came to be, followed by a Q&A from attendees.
