Traffic to the new website launched by the American Association for Medicare Supplement Insurance has doubled according to a report issued this weekend by the organization's director.

"Website traffic is an indicator of increased interest in the topic of Medicare insurance planning and reflects the growing number of consumers looking for local Medicare Supplement agents," stated Jesse Slome, director of the American Association for Medicare Supplement Insurance (AAMSI) as part of the six month report to members.  

The organization relaunched their website in mid-February adding a Zip Code-based Find A Local Medicare Supplement Agent online directory.  "In just a few months, the Association's directory has become the leading national resource used by consumers to connect with Medicare insurance agents in their area," Slome noted.

"A significant percentage of consumers still prefer working with a local Medicare insurance agent, the primary reason we made the capital expenditure to add the resource," Slome shared.  Access to the directory is free of charge and unlike other informational resources, consumers do not need to enter any personal information in order to access the national resource.

Slome shared that over 31,000 consumers had visited the website in the past six months since the new website's debut.  "Some 26,246 page views for Find An Agent directory was just over twice the number of visitors for our previous agent listing," Slome shared.  "We expect the number will grow significantly with the upcoming Medicare Open Enrollment which runs from October 15 through December 7 in 2017."
