An idiotic guy sends me a profanity-laced email telling me to remove him from a newsletter, it’s his fourth request. I can’t find his email anywhere on my lists, so I tell him that if he has another email I’ll check that, or he may be receiving my newsletter from a third party. But I told him that I’d ignore anything that contains more vulgarity.
Once again, an obscenity-filled reply. I’ve simply blocked his address.
This kind of outrage is self-hatred, self-anger. It’s directed outward because this individual doesn’t want to have to deal with what’s really making him so unhappy—his own failures, his own relationships, his own life.
People who scream and curse at you are really screaming at themselves.
