Violence is a disease process or can be part of addiction/alcoholism/drugs. People act out their pain and anger; it is a cry for help.

Words to describe violence are endless as aggression fighting, hostility, violent behavior, brutality cruelty, sadism, bloodshed, carnage, killing, slaughter, massacre, war, combat, butchery, and more. Our society is being conditioned into violence through the evening news that is mostly about violence. Even our entertainment can be violent as in the musical play, "Assassins". It uses the premise of a murderous carnival game to produce a revue-style portrayal of men and women who attempted to assassinate Presidents of the United States.

Raising a child in love and stability is not easy in our life styles today. The child is accepted as part of the family. Parents advise in helping the adolescent make good decisions that are positive with positive results. Instead of punishing a child, which stops their emotional growth and self-esteem, you allow them to find another option that will work better. This brings a sense of belonging and family. Discipline teaches the child to find a better way to resolve their problem. It is not about physical harm. Habitually, if the parent was beaten, will his children receive the same treatment?

The parent listens to the requests, thoughts, or suggestions. Without trust, communication, and feelings, the family is dysfunctional. This results in anger, resentment, guilt, and more negative feelings of unworthiness. This of course does not stop their pain and it grows.

Anger Management is a superficial way to avoid the deeper dilemma. The Band-Aid approach of changing behavior usually focuses on the obvious symptoms and not the deeper problems. The violence is a warning sign of a chronic, progressive, fatal disease. How many stories are told of the people who did not find the anger management classes useful? It is protected to preserve the image that if a person takes a class they can be "fixed".

The violence reported is a warning sign of a far deeper more complex problem, which includes physical, emotional, and mental dysfunction. Realizing that all forms of aggression originate from deep inner problems beyond those identified visually, is the answer.

Violent people are addicted to the natural drug adrenalin. The American Medical Association declared addiction a disease in 1956. These sick people need appropriate treatment. Only, with truth, knowledge, and compassion can people seek the help they need to restore a rational life style. Anger is inappropriate behavior and creates hurting others or themselves, acting out their pain. In addition, if the person is using drugs, prescriptions medications, or alcohol, this compounds the drug-induced behavior.

Part of treatment is learning to express their anger appropriately. Then the individual can grow into maturity, with appropriate responses of loving resolutions. Healing from valid information to find the missing balance in the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects is the answer. Few seminars, lectures, and consultations reveal the dynamics of violence. My interviews and lectures on Youtube have tools and understanding that bring recovery. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=marilyn+redmond&page=1 The old myths and nonproductive answers continue to bring misinformation.

I attended a three-day workshop on domestic violence given by the local county. I received a big notebook of charts and old information from Dawn and similar sources that provide help to women. When I questioned the leader about the woman needing to take corrective measure to change herself, I was dismissed, as it is always the man's fault. My experience was that we both were sick.  I was receiving what I sent out, too. There was no acknowledgement that each person needs to take responsibility for what they are projecting out to others while trying to defend themselves.  When I changed, I got back loving experiences and the violence was not an issue.

I had a counseling client who was attending classes for women in domestic violence given at the local hospital. She looked at me during one session and said, "You understand, but at the hospital where I have to take the classes, they do not get it". In the newspaper two years later, the hospital articles reported that the women were returning and they could not understand why?

Therapeutic Hypnosis and Holistic Counseling addresses the total complex issues for a balanced and whole life. Each person can recovery and move beyond their reacting in anger. Let us show kindness and provide appropriate healing for both partners. It is time to present hope and compassion for those hurting. Personal recovery is possible with accurate solutions for healing the root causes. Recovery means people create their own productive, contributing life style that benefits society.

I am a member of the International Board of Regression Therapy, American Board of Hypnotherapy, and lifetime member of Edgar Cayce's Association for Research and Enlightenment. I teach in colleges, wellness centers, and for metaphysical groups. My radio show, "Marilyn's Solutions", interviews, and TV appearances are big successes.
