Good Authoring Day to YOU

The days are slipping by. Before you know it, August will be here … and then, well then, Fall falls in. So, it’s Summertime, and the heat is flowing. Ideas are flowing—maybe lots of them. Too many? Get focused and remember:

What else is flowing are food and recipes. Last weekend, we did a Zoom dinner with three other couples. With the Pandemic still in major play, we all gathered virtually outside on our decks and patios—it was fun to hear about what each had prepared. Recipes were emailed for trying … I’m going to do the peach bite appetizer that sounded delicious as soon as I can get some peaches. Try it and let me know what you think:

Country Ham and Peach Bites

(Serves 6-8)

Ingredients:

¼ cup orange blossom or other mild honey
¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
4 ripe peaches
4 ounces shaved country ham or prosciutto
Fresh Basil, for garnish

Directions:

In a small microwave-safe bowl, combine the honey and pepper flakes.  Microwave on high until the honey is hot and very loose, 20 to 30 seconds.  Stir to combine.

Peel the peaches, slice them in half, and remove the pit.  Cut each of the peach halves into 3 or 4 wedges.  Wrap the peaches with the shaved ham and arrange on a serving tray.

Drizzle the peaches with the spiced honey.  If using small basil leaves, garnish the peaches with individual leaves.  If your basil is larger, slice the leaves into thin ribbons and sprinkle over the peaches.  Serve.

OK … sounds like a yummers to me.

July (and August) deliver the HOT months … and both will pass before you know it. What are you doing to stretch yourself and position your book? What new ideas are flowing? And what are you doing to implement them? Just asking!
