In this season of early summer, the influx of graduation ads tends to drown out any campaigns with a Father’s Day message. Nevertheless, this year, companies are putting their social good foot forward to make sure their Father’s Day messages are heard. Here are the top Father’s Day ads of 2019 starting buzz nationwide.

Father’s Facebook Groups


In a heartfelt ad, Facebook shows that the Facebook Groups feature can be used for more than just catching up with friends. The spot features two hardworking dads who are members of a “Dads with Daughters” Facebook Group, where the idea of taking their daughters to their first professional baseball game is shared. After switching perspectives between the two dad and daughter journeys to the field, the two pairs end up at rival teams Yankees and Mets game. There, the dads share photos within the group of their daughters’ outing to the game.

Dad Bod? No Problem


Popular bathroom essentials subscription service, Dollar Shave Club used Father’s Day to celebrate the different shapes and sizes of dads everywhere. Titled “Manifique: A Father’s Day Gift | Dad Bod | Dollar Shave Club,” the ad uses this new term to describe “The magnificence of otherwise overlooked male body types, often the bodies of Dads.” In a comical routine displaying the range of Dollar Shave Club products, dads with “manifique” bodies dance around to a song with the lyrics, “I worked hard to get my dad bod.” The video has resonated with YouTube users, with one commenting, “Felt like I was lookin’ in da mirror. They totes copied some of my moves.”

A Son’s First Shave


Premiering in the middle of Pride Month and right before Father’s Day, the timing couldn’t be better for this touching new Gillette ad. The leading razor company’s newest campaign documents the first shave of transgender man Samson Bonkeabantu Brown. Samson’s father lovingly walks him through each step of shaving, telling him, “Don’t be scared, shaving is about confidence.” Gillette adds special meaning to the experience of the first shave shared by fathers and sons everywhere by sharing Samson’s special moment in this ad.

Step-Dads Who Step Up


In this viral short film released by Budweiser, sons and daughters express their gratitude for their stepfathers’ unwavering presence in their lives. The stepchildren share the stories of how their stepfathers stood by them even when they weren’t especially welcoming of a new father figure in their lives. Right when the stories have viewers on the verge of tears, the film takes a final pull at one’s heartstrings when the step-children ask their long-time supporters to officially adopt them.

Dance Like a Dad
