Cliff Walk 2018 Sept. 9

This Sunday, Things to Do In Plymouth MA is one of the Friends of the Foundation sponsors of the Cliff Walk, a fundraiser for the A.L.S. Family foundation.

The event is a 7-mile walk along the Cape Cod Canal, and includes live music by the "Real Deal,", and a family-style cookout, including face painting.  Held rain or shine, it's the the premiere event for this wonderful charity.

Join the 1,000 walkers and their families.  Registration is 10:00 a.m., Walk is at 11:00 a.m.

2017 Cliff Walk raised over $210,000.  More information is at www.Plymouth123.com, simply look at events on Sunday, September 9, 2018.

Because the company usually only supports events in Plymouth, Kingston, Duxbury and Pembroke, you might be wondering why the exception?  After all, the Foundation is headquartered in Bourne, and the walk this Sunday is in Sagamore Beach, along the Cape Cod Canal.

But scratch the surface, and it's easy to know why Plymouth's best events calendar company decided to get involved.  The Foundation's Director of Development is Lisa Reilly, a new resident of Plymouth.  And Marilee Driscoll, the founder and president of Things to Do In Plymouth MA has had a lifelong affinity for people in need of long term care.  She is the author of "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Long-term Care Planning," (Penguin).  And, of course, the A.L.S. Family Charitable Foundation serves New England, including Plymouth.

As Mary Ann Sciaba Singersen, president & co-founder of the Foundation says, "For those we love, for those we lost, we walk."

So Things to Do In Plymouth MA encourages everyone to join them.  And, to give if they aren't able to join.

ABOUT A.L.S. FAMILY CHARITABLE FOUNDATION

Our in-house programs are open to New England area families and are designed to alleviate some of the financial and emotional burdens of living with ALS.

The Foundation helps in a way that these families really need. We help keep the lights and heat on for the family; we help send children of our patients to college; we help the patient get as good a night's sleep as they are able to; we help families take what often times is their last vacation together to make some wonderful memories; we take away the fear of not having enough to make the holidays joyous and back to school shopping fun; and we make sure that caregivers are able to take time to take care of themselves, and so much more.

And of course, the Foundation also funds research efforts to find better treatment options and a cure.
