On Saturday, April 14th, musician and songwriter Cheryl Wheeler will perform at the Spire Center. Her name may not be familiar, but her songs are - artists such as Bette Midler, Kenny Loggins, Garth Brooks have covered songs she has written.
Cheryl Wheeler has been recording music since 1983, when she released her debut album Newport Songs. She mainly sings and plays guitars on her albums. The folk band Peter, Paul, and Mary covered "75 Septembers" from Cheryl's fourth album Driving Home. Her music is recorded and released under the label of her own record company, Dias Records. She is touring across the United States through October.
Her music can be enjoyed by anyone, and the concert hall allows children to attend!
Her concert at the Spire Center begins at 8:00 and ends at 10:00. Tickets cost $35 per person.
ABOUT THE SPIRE CENTER
The Spire Center is a performing arts space located at 25 Court State. It showcases performances of a variety of music, such as Blues, Jazz, Rock, Country, Americana, and Folk. It will be hosting the 2018 Plymouth Jazz Festival on May 26th and 27th. The center also promotes local theater, hosting four to five stage productions per year and conducting a series of Shakespeare plays during the summer. The performing arts building seats up to 225 people. It does not hold a restaurant inside, but there is a cash bar available.
