This HND piece argues that there is another pandemic besides COVID, and this one is affecting a whole lot more people. In fact, it could be affecting 20-30 percent of Americans. This forgotten pandemic consists of a variety of unrecognized, untreated viral and immune connected issues, and is called Neuro-Immune Dysfunction Syndrome, or NIDS.
Typically, NIDS can manifest as what we call Autism, Pervasive Developmental Disorder (PDD), and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS/CFIDS). Many classic autoimmune diseases may have a treatable NIDS component. We take a hard look at today's autism, and find that it has very little in common with the condition described back in the 1940s by Dr. Leo Kanner. Kanner referred to it as a developmental disorder, that affected at most 1:5000 children. But since it is now said to affect 1:54 kids, there has to be something else going on.
