Interscan's Popular Free Tools Are Now Even Easier To Use

Users of gas detectors--especially those folks without a background in chemistry--can get confused when confronted with the various units of measurement that are applied to gas concentrations.

Although parts-per-million (ppm) and parts-per-billion (ppb) are the most common units of measurement, many government agencies will also utilize milligrams per cubic meter and micrograms per cubic meter, even though such units are affected by both temperature and pressure.

Making matters worse, most of the available so-called converters do not consider temperature and pressure. Rather, they assume some form of a "standard condition," which will likely not apply to the user.

Thus, errors will occur, which in some cases could be the difference between regulatory compliance and non-compliance.

Interscan's new script-based conversion utilities provide quick and accurate results on the fly, requiring only a few keystrokes.

"We have always received compliments on these converters, and that's when they were in the form of downloadable spreadsheets," said Grant McClure, Interscan's director of special projects. "Everyone is sure to like these new utilities even more."

Interscan invites anyone who does gas detection to check them out.
