The political leanings of radio talk show hosts are far more conservative than anyone has previously realized or documented before now. Of the 151 radio talk shows that can be clearly labeled as either liberal or conservative, a full 90% or 136 shows are conservative, while only 15 or 10% can be identified as liberal, according to a survery by William A. Gordon, an author who has published "Gordon's Radio and Podcast Publicity Directory," for the past 28 years.
"Talk radio is so politically one-sided," Gordon says, " that people should stop talking about liberal media bias. ":Only public radio makes a concerted effort to get different perspectives, and many of those shows are threatened by President Trump's budget cuts.
Gordon began researching talk show hosts after the publicist for one of his books failed to send announcements to radio talk show hosts, and he was forced to do his own publicity work. Apparently there are no scientific studies documenting this bias, and Gordon stresses this finding is based on what he could learn from his own radio appearances over the years (over 500 shows), what he can learn from each station's web sites, and industry articles about various hosts.
