TMA's origins began in 1987 when a group of the founding members gathered in Chapel Hill, N.C., to discuss how they could facilitate networking, exchange ideas and best practices, and promote what was a relatively new industry at the time. In the last quarter century the organization has grown from 31 to more than 9,300 members in 48 chapters worldwide. And now more than 450 TMA events are held annually on six continents.
