One agency has been dismissed from the competitive bidding for Ocean City government’s marketing business next year following officials’ discovery that a consultant working with the city’s tourism department is married to an individual at the agency, according to a report in Ocean City Today.
City Manager Doug Miller told the newspaper that Baltimore-based TBC Inc. was no longer in the running as a potential advertising company when it was discovered that the consultant is married to a TBC-affiliated PR associate.
Agencies that submitted bids include Columbia-based Marriner Marketing, Harvey Agency of Baltimore, Glen Burnie-based Integrated Designs, and Fuse Ideas out of Boston, Massachusetts. Also, Beyond Spots and Dots, Paradise Advertising, and the Bellweather Agency.
Longtime agency MGH of Owings Mills is not participating in the review.
