On January 1, 2020, Ganja Yoga founder Dee Dussault is launching a series of cannabis-infused online classes. Based on her book, “Ganja Yoga: A Practical Guide to Conscious Relaxation, Soothing Pain Relief and Enlightened Self Discovery,” the interactive classes will feature Dussault and two-dozen certified Ganja Yoga instructors. The subscriptions are currently available for pre-sale with classes officially starting in the new year.

Monthly subscriptions to Ganja Yoga Online are priced at $20 a month for three weekly classes, each which can be enhanced with different methods of cannabis consumption and education. Cannabis use is optional. Each class includes a different style of yoga. Season 1 includes 12 classes, totaling nine hours of content. It is available at a pre-sale rate of $4.20 for the first month and $20 per month thereafter.

There is also a “Gone Wild” subscription option for $30 a month. It includes access to all 12 monthly classes at once, as well as behind the scene features, bonus content and a signed copy of Dussault’s book. All the classes are sponsored by a “health-forward” cannabis company like Somatik, Moonmade Farms and Wildland Cannabis. A small portion of sales proceeds will be donated to Equity First Alliance.

The goals of “Ganja Yoga” are to enhance relaxation, focus on sensation and embodiment over visual form, elevate creativity and expand consciousness. The classes are designed to be suitable for all levels, all ages and all bodies.

“Many people are afraid to try yoga, or think it isn’t for them because they don’t have the ‘yoga body,’ says Dussault. "I’ve taught thousands of people of all sizes and ages that every body is a yoga body.”

Dussault has been practicing yoga for 25 years, and she developed her Ganja Yoga courses in 2009. She is the first instructor to publicly offer cannabis-enhanced yoga. She has taught her method to thousands of students in more than a dozen cities across the United States and three countries abroad.

“Ten years of being a one-woman show with no background in business, working to make a name in the cannabis sector has been huge,” says Dussault. “Being the first person to publicly offer cannabis yoga, along with raising awareness about female cannabis users and the canna-wellness industry are what I'm very proud of."

In addition to Ganja Yoga Online, Dussault hosts GanjaYoga.com which offers Ganja Yoga teacher training, retreats, private sessions, a Ganja Yoga teacher directory, free YouTube classes online, information on Ganja, links to blogs and to her favorite cannabis vendors and products.

Insider Take:

I have never taken a Ganja Yoga class, or even heard of the concept, but it is intriguing. I have taken many yoga classes though, and three weekly classes alone for $20 a month is a deal. If you are into cannabis, this may be an enlightening experience. But even if you aren’t, you can benefit from yoga from different instructors, particularly if they try different styles. We like that there are two tiers to choose from, and that this is just one stream of income from the creator. Subscriptions are a great business model, and this opportunity carries a low risk but potential for high reward for Dussault and her students.
