Stress, pressure, mental health issues for America's tweens and teens, we see it widely in that 10-19 age range, such as a reported 56% increase in suicides from 2007-2016. In one of the most advanced nations in the world, we hear of shortages in mental health services provided for this age range. The stress in America in general has been noted in such reports as Everyday Health Group's "United States of Stress" or the annual reports of the American Psychological Association. MSNBC has recently reported a severe shortage of child and adolescent psychiatrists. However, it should be pointed out that one can, on the other hand, find licensed psychologists who are widely available across urban and rural areas throughout the country, and licensed social worker/therapists can also be of help.Psychotherapy has validated techniques that can help with emotional issues and often be a viable alternative to the use of medication.Young people live in social media to a large extent these days and it's a complex, ever-changing, engaging and often emotional world, and can be a  significant source of on-going stress. A primary directive when stress and emotional problems start seriously interfering with one's life, is contact a professional--a licensed psychologist, psychiatrist or social worker/therapist, and get started on treatment. If insurance or financial issues are a concern, one might check with nearby universities or colleges that have psychology departments, school psychology programs, or clnical and counseling programs which might offer free or reduced cost treatment possibly conducted by advanced graduate students under supervision. Many emotional problems, stress-related problems are TREATABLE! DON'T WAIT!
